Cheetham Hill is brilliant if you
1) Are not in a rush
2) Can lock all your doors and windows
3) Know that your ultimate destination is somewhere other than Cheetham Hill.
It has been a while since a local gang member has been found machine gunned in the police station car park.
The A56 passed Strangeways is much better. It lacks colour but it makes up for it in traffic levels. Speed camera outside fire station is switched on 😐
Haha! I used to work in Cheetham Hill, I was late once because I had to take a detour due to a shooting.
There is a nice kebab shop just on Cheetham Hill road but thats about it. Oh and some very ropey protistutes that I would most definately avoid.
The scenary is ok, you have the massive wall of HMP Strangeways, some markets, lesser striped and greater hooded kids. Just remember not to feed them.
While out on the road bike after dark t’other week I got completely and totally lost around Bury. I ended up in the middle of nowhere. Still have no idea where I was. It was literally like an episode of Lost
Oh, and a man from Cheetham Hill once shoved a gun in my face. Which was frightfully rude, and quite frankly ruined my evening’s karma
Depending on the time of travel I’d probably hack up Cheetham Hill Road (in the bus lane out of hours with the doors locked), turn right past Heaton Park, then straight up the M66.
On your way to the fabled land of milk and honey that is Huddersfield perhaps?
I think I’d also go to Barton as well, book myself onto one of those Helicopter Pleasure Flights they always advertise, then hijack it at gunpoint over Prestwich
Because the riding is better, the scenery more beautiful, the houses are cheaper, the people are friendlier and the air sweeter than bloody Chorlton. 😀
Fred – My mate woke up, very drunk, at 4 in the morning, on the top floor of a double-decker, covered in half-eaten kebab, in a pitch black Moss Side bus depot. He didn’t know it was Moss Side bus depot. He didn’t have a clue where the **** he was. He had a pleasant surprise as he staggered out in the welcoming embrace of the Crescents 😆
