Any experience(s) with these?!? Another bar bag thread

Got some Amazon vouchers impatiently waiting to be spent

started looking for storage solutions for the gravel bike and stumbled across bar bags

at present, the plan is to fit and leave it there with no intention of (regularly) moving it from bike to another. hoping to have enough room for multitool, spare tube, tyre levers & pump, snacks and sandwiches and a base layer / jacket for stops or if it gets too warm, maybe room for phone / keys / wallet too

Looking for something that I can get into easily (zip on top) and hopefully something that won’t bounce around too much

Not a bar bag but ive got a RhinoWalk toptube bag

RhinoWalk stuff seems to be well made, waterproof and reasonably priced

The Restrap Cannister bar bag is £50 on Amazon. Obviously more expensive than the ones you listed but really well made and you’ll be supporting a British company.

2 x spare lights (small)

No room for any additional sandwiches I’m afraid.

There are two main things that’ll put me off any bar bag (a) not being able to hold the centre of the bars because the bag is against them and (b) it’s mounted so high that a bar light can’t be fitted. That covers most of the cheaper solutions 🙂

for clarity, looking at the cheaper options for now as I wanted to use it as a test bed to see how I get on with having a bar bag permanently strapped to the front of my bike

if it works out as hoped then I’d look to get something nicer further down the line

Looks like you need around 3ltr capacity to get all that in.  Perhaps a Carradice Baja?

Combined with a cheapy ebay/amazon handlebar extender to hold it away from the bars avoiding the problems scotroutes points out.  That’s definitely a big issue with the topeak one I have.  I now use an old tri-bar extension thingumajig to hold it up and away from cables.

The stuff I’ve had from RockBros has been ok. But I’m never sure if it is actually a brand or if people just stick it on anything.

These aren’t expensive and look good.

I don’t bother with the third (headtube) strap though. Absolutely fine on and off road. Well made.

It isn’t massive, but ample for spares/a small jacket/etc.
