I don’t mind a banner for a small, reputable business tbh. It’s the pop ups and the ones that load an extra page between clicking on a topic and accessing it that I pay to avoid.

I’ve just hidden it like I did with the previous crc banner. I only want to see text or photos that people have posted.

I am really fond of the banner thing at the top loading and making all the threads on my phone jump just as I try to select one and end up on a thread i didn’t want. Great.

Unfortunately disabling vids in preferences does not kill the pop up video. It reduces the number of times it pops up, but annoyingly it does not stop it.

Not always. Mostly I don’t see them. Then sometimes I see them a lot. Then I see them if I refresh a page but not if I have gone straight from a link… all very odd. But I definitely disabled them in my settings.

As above I’ve ticked that option yet…..

Seems to happen if you navigate away via a link in a thread and then return.

Tbh the forum seems to have been running shit for a good few weeks now, what once was a bit of a gag is turning into a major turn off. It’s getting to the stage where knowing it’ll hang up for ages, no access at all, your replies will be lost etc equate to don’t bother, it’s tedious, and that’s with a subscription.

Looks like the fancy editor has gone AWOL again too!

as a paid subscriber i am not overly pleased to see an ad banner for silly priced trousers at the top of the page. I get that CRC were some form of formal sponsor, and I guess a bike/kit retailer sponsoring a forum and getting their banner at the top of the page is logical, but an expensive clothing company that is not selling anything bike related ?

I’m sure there is a reason and hoping that paid subscribers are told what it is…

Iirc STW doesn’t choose what ads pop up, as its done via Google and Google will be looking at search history?
