As the title says really. Looking for real world feedback on 750ish wide carbon riser bars. Cheers.

On One knuckleballs. In 747 length.

I got the hard and they are more comfy than the Kore Mega aluminium bars they replaced. Graphics i dont like though. I got them cheap at about £30 last year.

I think CRC have some Answer Pro Taper Carbon risers for about 55 at the moment.

I’ll check CRC out – thanks.

Checked but after 30mm rise ideally, shame as they looked like a real bargain.

Why not get a Renthal Fatbar Carbon and cut it down? I really like the sweep and feel of mine. It’s still at 800mm but I think I’m gonna cut it down to 770.

Kinesis strut r750 have much less sweep than most which really suits me. My hands don’t land right on 8/9 Deg sweep bars at 750/760 wide but r750 bars are perfect.

Saw some cheap Easton Havoc carbons recently, perhaps in that Canyon sale?

They were the benchmark 750mm bars for me, along with Race Face Sixc.

    Struts are only 15mm rise.

The On Ones and Answers are 25mm so at least closer.

30mm is quite a high rise nowadays isnt it?

Renthal carbon bar is probably where I end up zerolight, are they worth the £?

Interesting what you say about the sweep cp, I’m getting pain in my wrist after hours of riding (need to do more extracurricular training obviously, or less perhaps) anyway sweep could be the issue.

30 is high but the front end of the bike does feel low… Whyte T-130.

I’ve a Renthal Fatbar Carbon Lite (replaced a well-used Easton DH), tbh I find it too stiff.

Replaced with an On One 747 chewy on my HT and a 777 Hard on my FS.

Both really impressive on feel, price and weight.

The onones are £59.99 on planet x. Question is, chewy or hard?

Just read the blurb, apparently It’s the hard version for squishy bikes.

Yeah the hard is what i use on my full susser. I read somewhere that the chewy were quite flexy.

I was looking more at eliminating a little teail buzz, and the hard are definitely still more comfy than the alu bars they replaced.

    Same. Sorted with the Kinesis.

Easy to tell if you have the right sweep for a particular bar width as your hand will drop neutrally on the bar. MOre sweep I get point contact towards the outer edge of my hand rather than spread evenly across my hand. If I grab 8 deg bars then my wrists kick inwards. On the kinesis bars my wrists are straight.

    Sounds promising, thanks cp.

I had wrist pain from the carbon bar that came on my Trigger Carbon 2. After some research on sweeps I decided that the Renthal ticked the right boxes. Looks nice too. Mine is the full on Fatbar, not the Lite. It’s certainly stiff, but I don’t see the need for flex when we already have front suspension. Much better on my wrists. I’m reluctantly getting ready to cut it down as it can sometimes feel wide in narrow trails, but it feels perfect otherwise. Only you can decide if it’s worth the £. For me, the difference between it and other bars was small enough that I didn’t agonise over it.
