As title, will 5wt suspension oil be ok to lube lowers on pikes.
    0w30 is recommended.

You can, but why not just buy the proper stuff?

    It’ll be fine.

That would be a bit thin in my opinion, use fully synthetic motor oil or 15wt fork oil.

IIRC Roxkshox recommended 5wt while the correct ‘Pike’ oil was unavailable, but now that’s not the case I’d use what’s intended…

5wt in the dampers, upper tube. This is the lowers so it’s only lubricating oil which 5wt isn’t very good at.

The recommended oil is 0w-30 which is just synthetic motor oil.

Standard in a pike charger damper is 3w with motul 2.5 being a good alternative
I would go something like a 10 in the lowers if you haven’t got the correct stuff

It’s good practice to use what they recommend, but as vincienup says for a long time you couldn’t actually buy SRAM’s (*) 0W so they told everyone just to use the 3W instead. I’ve run forks on 5w30 diesel engine oil, that was fine too. You don’t want to mess around with damper oil though.

(* It’s only magic if you buy it in the SRAM bottle but I’d bet 10 scottish pence it’s Maxima Ultra motorbike oil.)

I’ve used synthetic motor oil for bush lubrication in forks for the last 10 years with no problems.

I tried some 5wt in my pikes because I had it, but they do move better with 0wt. I just bought a litre of 0w-30 from a motor bike shop. Tend to use it in all my forks now.

Damping oil is something very different.
