Bit of a random ponder for my singlecross, which has 120mm spaced rear dropouts.

Does anyone know if there are spacers/washers which can be removed from the axle of a Nexus/Alfine hub to make it squeeze into a 120mm dropout? Even if it just takes a few mm off the width it might help…

Alternatively, any 120mm spaced 8 speed internal hubs which any one is aware of?

Thought about this myself for the same project. couldn't find anything except SA 3speed. Well without spending big money. You could do what I did and build a freewheel hub. 120mm was old 5 speed anyway and you can get 6 speed block on. you can get a mech hanger to fit on the axle. Biggest hassle is clip on cable stops and they aren't hard to find.

    you can get a 5 speed – Sachs P5 Spectro in 120OLN

you coudl also have a go at fitting a 3 speed brompton hub with their 2 speed overdrive system – that is 120 oln
