Well, I always wanted a Porsche, but Jnr got their before me with a 911 collectors edition:

He gets "achievement" points at school, with 200 resulting in a golden tie. Of an entire Secondary there's about 5 per school year (180 kids per year group). Anyway he got 196 so actually a miss. But, he got a glowing school report and an honours badge in music, so we decided on what has obviously been a tricky year 7 to reward him with the Porsche anyway.

Floor pan is done, I'll post a pic once he's finished.

Well, if this doesn't just scream STW then I've got nothing.

The LAAT is amazing, just don't have the shelf space for it.

Yeah I am wondering where it's going to go.

Sadly the Gunship does nothing for me. In many respects it reminds me of the Star Destroyer...too symmetrical, full of thin plates, too big to really keep anywhere.

That T2 is in the bag. It’ll go nicely next to my T1.

Is it just me or is that Bay just not good? I mean, fair enough, it's a hard shape to do with lego but they just seem to have gone "it's impossible to do the curves right so we'll just half-ass everything". Why are the a-pillars vertical? Why are the lights and spare tyre so low down? (it looks almost like they designed the front then had to add an extra row of bricks above it). And the forehead!

I really like the functionality and the rear's pretty good but it's basically not got any of the iconic shape that makes a bay.

It does on the other hand look like the entire cast of Bob's Burgers.

I recently purchased the Lego Dinosaur Fossils
They were running a promotion for a free minifig & adidas Superstar set
lego

But I hadn't qualified for the minimum spend so ended up buying a Batmobile to get it.

Dinos were a fun build, T-Rex is quite unstable and falls apart easily.
Not built the Batmobile yet.

Off on a biking holiday tomorrow so last night was "look at all the bags of cheap chinese mocs you've bought while drunk and decide what to take". Tiger tank or cyborg t-rex? Tiny motorbike or steam-powered wooden battlemech?

Quite glad I talked myself out of getting the Space 1999 eagle, I have more than enough. Still kind of desperately want the 6700 piece Babylon 5 though... And then you've kind of got to get the 4700 piece Agamemnon to go beside it. Maybe I'll stick to little £8 rebrickable cars

Not sure if it is just me but I think Lego is a bit like my love of bikes.
I love building and constructing, but when they're done it's all a bit 'meh'.

Not every time with bikes of course, as I ride the things and get huge enjoyment out of it - but what does one do with a bloody plastic brick space shuttle 🤣

I intended to get a 3D print design for a bracket for it to go on a large ish flat wall, and then a high quality NASA print of a hubble pic to go next to it, as I am genuinely fascinated by space - but once the lego is built it doesn't really do much.

The cars do nothing for me but I do fancy the Airwolf model 🙂

twonks, couldn't agree more, I actually get a lot of enjoyment out of anticipating the sets, building them can be a bit of a let down and they don't do much other than collect dust once built. Perversely I also enjoy buying, restoring and sorting Lego which is a bit mad. Bit like the cycling, the riding is something I do to support the collecting of gear and building of trails. That said I do prefer building from scratch but it takes a lot of emotional commitment, getting started on a build is like getting out for a ride, making a start is always the most difficult bit, once going even the slog is sort of enjoyable. Yes I'm weird but am comfortable with who I am.

The 49-year old me still does.

In honesty, if they released just the car and minifigs without the truck it'd be an insta-buy.

for anyone still on the fence, the big Falcon (along with some other SW Lego) is currently on offer on Shop Disney, 25% + extra 10% with a code (offers stack!) PLUS up to 6% TCB so potentially £467 which is the cheapest it's ever been (& a fair bit cheaper than I've seen people trying to sell it 2nd hand)

Lots of fairly decent offers on at the moment. The Saturn Apollo is available again at £109, the Defender is £116 at JL (and a tenner less you know where) for starters. Might get both and stick them away for winter.

Doubtless this has been covered on the thread but looking to sell some sets as we are moving. Bricklink looks a little too involved so was wondering if anyone had any luck with schpock or Marketplace style selling arenas. Just put some SpeedChamps stuff on Marketplace to see how they go.

EBay works quite well for sets, obviously you've got the fees but a lot goes for it's value.

I've been buying my son Lego Technic for ages, we've enjoyed building it together. Today my wife bought me a set. My own new Lego set. Just for me. An adult.

Is the Porsche GT3 the orange one if so I’m very interested.

Yeah me too, although you can probably look at the used prices of that one. A bit mad.

Just ordered this - need something to do on Crimbo day as there’ll be no turkey, just a few mouldy sprouts to suck on 🤣

Does the GT3 have box and instructions and how much do you want for it, the same for the Arocs.

Thanks Diz

"A couple of years ago I downloaded the original UC falcon instructions and built it out of the parts I had to hand. I've never been able to justify the cost of the official set, but I've got a tonne of bricks and it was a joy to build it. Plus I like the splash of colour!"

If anyone is interested I've got a mint, with box etc Liebherr R 9800 Excavator coming up for sale.

As per: Lego Link

Apologies for the not so stealth ad! It will be going up on the classifieds in a bit.

I would however be interested in a swap for a similar large set...

Based in Exeter.

That's a good deal. I got it from Amazon a few months back for ~£25. I haven't gifted it yet, but it looks good. It's got some weird niche parts in it though, which may be good or annoying depending on viewpoint.

@neilforrow, how much?
