I’m guessing you mean the recent-ish sports car, not the current ‘Mustang’ e-SUV monstrosity?

Well, yes. Not that I've seen the new eSuv thing. Will now have a google.

The mustang MachE is actually quite nice in the metal. Even more so the GT version.

I got 8860 for Xmas when I was 11.

It sits behind me while I work (hence the dust!).

I approve of the RHD conversion. Less sure about the green seat cover.

Well this is an odd one...

Someone is dropping this off for me today for free.

https://www.lego.com/en-gb/product/the-globe-21332

The catch is that I have to finish it tomorrow for use in a promotional video about some football competition. Afterwards I get it back and a signed Ronaldo shirt.

That'll do a great job in the wood burning stove to get things going for the evening 🙂

Is that one of those sets with alternative instructions so you can make a flat earth version and respect everyone's beliefs? 😉

So it appears there’s a Technic F1 Mclaren on the cards for 2022. Only 1400+ pieces though, so I’m not expecting it to rival the Bugatti et al for detail.

Done.

Took 9 man hours between me and my good lady wife. Luckily the kit was such that we could work on separate sub assemblies.

2 bits missing (one structural and one decorative) and a mistake in the instructions though. The finished model is very nice however.

It is going to appear as set dressing in a promotional video for the Women's Euros apparently. Hope nobody kicks it!

Dropped the globe off with a mate who has just finished building a Ferris Wheel.

It turns out that there has been some frantic kit building around Manchester over the weekend as Lego are the sponsors of the Women's European Football Championships, and they need a load of models for the video.

Will post a link when it has been released.

2 bits missing, that's unusual, only ever had a single piece missing and that had been replaced with a different piece of the same size so the bag weight would have been right. Loads of occasions I thought I had pieces missing, either on the floor or more usually caught in the folds of the plastic bags. I've learnt the hard way the bags go in the bin after a stage is completed.

Yeah, one technical bit that we had a spare for and the prow of the boat decoration. Will contact Lego for that when we get the globe back.

I'll bet dollars to donuts that the missing pieces are on the model somewhere they shouldn't be. I'm sure you'll find them if you simply take it all apart and rebuild it.

Definitely not.

One was obviously structural and doesn't go anywhere else. The other is unique and would stand out if it was put anywhere else. No big deal. Structural bit was replaced by one out of spares, the decorative bit we just did differently.

Fair enough.

In all honesty, I'm surprised. It's not like Lego, one of their primary boasts is quality control.

Yeah, though it was odd. The error in the instructions wasn't the best either.

I bought myself the Caterham the other week. Dexterity training for my hand I thought.

Was a bit disappointed, tbh. Was expecting to be entertained for hours. The finished product is fragile AF.

Glad I didn't pony up for a new one. Will stick it back online for what I paid. No loss other than the reality not meeting my expectations.

We bought one of the Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy kits (76107) and it was missing a couple of fairly large orange pieces. It took LEGO 6 months to get them to us.

It's 'only' the 1/10 scale though, not the 1/8 that the supercars are, so similar to the Porsche RSR and Ferrari. Which is a little disappointing! I would've loved it to be 1/8 scale and with all the hybrid and gearbox tech in the engine! Will still be getting it to add to the collection though, really like it, especially as an F1 fan

Anyone picked up any cool kits (discounted or otherwise) this half-term? I just ordered the ECTO-1 for £135 (RRP £180) because I loved the film as a kid and fancy a fun, nostalgic build.

If you have a Tesco clubcard, the Technic Hovercraft 42120 is only £12.50 in store at the mo which is a bit of a bargain, nice little set with some clever linkages and good parts selection for the money! Plenty in stock in my local...

It's not ideal, but I think Lego that is so re-usable is the very thin end of the wedge. Maybe once we have got rid of all single use plastic we can do away with Lego.

Lego Masters Australia - we've been watching this on catch up on All4

Some phenomenal builds on there and the programme hosts are quite entertaining as well.

Sweajnr (8) and I have just finished the 6 wheeled ATV. It's very intricate for the piece count and was a lot of fun to build. Well recommended.

Now impatiently waiting on the back ordered tow truck....

Just finished the Merc Zertros trial truck and the CAT D11. Both really good builds actually and the merc is remarkably good fun round my garden, with coarse gravel and railway sleepers to play with. D11 completes the TH mining operation, joining the Volvo tipper and liebherr digger 😊

That Ferrari looks ok, I’m not massive blown away by it. We have the original generic supercar technic which was a great build, the Mercedes’ Arocs with all the pneumatics which was a bit of a challenge, and the GT3 ( orange one) which was good, but felt a bit pointless as all the nerdy gubbins was then covered over?

As yet unopened, and the lad is drifting away from these sets, is the technic Bugatti, still in the brown Lego box we got on an Argos clearout for £189. Tempted, but might just hang on for a bit.

I kinda... don't like that Ferrari? Looks like it might be interesting internally but it's a pretty ugly model.

The Lightyear spaceship I can get behind though, I thought that was cool before I realised it was from a TV show.

Is that LEGO Optimus Prime going to be on general sale? Not sure what 'exclusive' means - will it only be available direct from LEGO? If so, what's the chances of bagging one? Aside from having a LEGO account, is there anything else I need to do order one tomorrow?

Sorry, lots of questions (can you tell I'm slightly excited?!)

Normally means you can only get it from Lego to begin with. Wouldn’t have thought it’ll be a problem to get one, but you might be on back order if you don’t get the first batch.

Normally means just from Lego website/shops. Occasionally an exclusive is shared with a particular retailer e.g. JL or Symths. It doesn't usually mean limited quantities.

Unfortunately the Lego website runs on 2 Sinclair Spectrums taped together... normally it's not too bad unless there's a limited quantity free gift offer (in which case, expect to not be able to log on until they're all gone 😃)

based on the Masterpiece toy/collectible rather than the classic 80s one, probably

Am in two minds about that Ferrari. It's nice but I reckon another model would have been better. Not for me at £350.

Never really was a Transformers fan. Lots of friends were and I had a version of OP. I think the Lego rendition is a solid build, but doesn't do anything for me.

The Delorean arrived a few days ago and is tucked away for a rainy day. Also picked up the NASA shuttle 1/2 priced BNIB.

PSA Defender back on offer for £95 at Amazon. I've been wanting to buy it sub-£100 at JL and other places but not seen any deals for months, hence nabbing this one before it disappears again.

Jnr is again obsessed with clone trooper MOCs, so we're snapping up 501st figures and a few battle packs. I'm currently building him a display area so hopefully we'll have something to show for it soon.

yeah with no exclusive GWP they were never going to sell out. A few years ago I'd've been all over this as I love Lego & Transformers! Trying to show restraint these days though (mainly cos of the amount of unbuilt stuff I've got already) No need to instabuy this @ RRP unless you simply must have it - it will be discounted in due course (or they'll be a better Lego store offer)
