How much of it will be preaching to the converted though. Hoping the TV debate will actually be a debate about what the parties will be doing and how rather than asking them all about things they said in 1983...

There is nothing to disagree with. It is a fact based document on what the parties are offering/intending to do, put in very simple easy to read manner.

That favours anybody promising the moon on a stick!

Yes they are. But instead of parties politically slagging each off, media trying to influence etc,. it would be better to have non politically aligned and non-biased information broadcast, sent to all in post etc,. so at least the clueless are given a chance to understand what the parties are offering, what the differences are, what it means to each person, what it means to public services

Whilst I agree with you, unfortunately I think 90% of people would file it straight in the landfill bin - because its closer to the door than the paper recycling bin.

I can't wait to see the expression on her face as every single reporter and interviewer asks here what she's so scared of? As the rictus grin once again gives way to the death stare, and another name is added to 'zee list' 😆

They can do that today, and depending which party will get the support or the sniping from media. Would still be up for scrutiny.

Possibly, but would also be on TV, billboards, buses etc,. If you don't provide unbiased basic facts on what the parties are actually offering how can we ever expect the clueless to be anything but clueless.

Perhaps she should be asked why she didn't want a public inquiry into the [url=

Big n daft, do you hold May to the same level of scrutiny for supporting state sponsors of terrorism

In terms of arms sales to regimes around the world we are indeed conflicted, there is oversight, and even if the system is flawed there is a system. Labour are virtue signaling but have yet to state the value of the licences that would be rescinded of the current £3.5bn

Whatever is happening in Yemen, it's under reported, it's part of the Sunni/Shia divide in the region and is likely to be complex with
No simple answer, whether we supply to the Saudi regime is up for debate

I think I can guess the POV of somebody posting Guido videos of Carswell being a dick.

Who would want to be in Amber Rudd's shoes 😆

Lamb to the slaughter....

Although a cunning move by Corbyn, only done based on his current popularity.

What about fox running after Rob from the Philippines (heading for serious criminal charges of rape and murder going by his boasts)

Taking questions during a campaign visit in Bath, Mrs May said Mr Corbyn "seems to be paying far more attention to how many appearances on telly he's doing, and he ought to be paying a little more attention to thinking about Brexit negotiations".

Can she actually hear what is coming out of her mouth?

was that a tacit signal that she thinks she's going to lose?

It'll be worth reading the London Evening Standard, if you haven't done so already. They say revenge is a dish best served cold. George Osbourne is having a field day with May! He'll be absolutely loving this.

Actually ... it's a sign of how far we've traveled down the wormhole when you find yourself looking favourably at George Osbourne 😯

I've always had the feeling Murdoch doesn't like being on the losing side. I wonder if there's a tipping point for him ?

Given you can still get almost 4/1 at the bookies on any result other than a Tory majority, I suspect that's a way off yet - but them I'm quite tempted by a punt on NOM at 11/2.

I think Murdoch is safe- hes backed the right party just not the right leader

May will win, less than she hoped even if she does well her party will be rattled by her poor showing

surge in bets being placed on Johnson being PM, apparently

Rudd is obviously angling herself as a replacement- Crosby obvs has faith in her, after tonight she might even be the defacto face of the campaign!

either way the rightwing press will be working on the next way to attack corbyn;

chaotic corbyn vs Strong & stable is now a joke
IRA thing hasnt stuck, polls still narrowing
todays press (mail, express, telegraph etc) back on immigration and using the all powerful xenophobia tool

May has the look of someone who's finger has just gone through the toilet paper.

She'll win, but she's already packing her bags.

Angela Rayner on May: "This prime minister is for turning but not for turning up."

That's a bit unfair. Tories say the PM is "talking to voters, not swapping soundbites with 6 other politicians"

Theresa May, well known for her love of talking to voters and hatred of soundbites.

There's a very important proposal in the Labour manifesto that hasn't received any press coverage:

Labour has effectively committed itself to ending the corporate secrecy of the UK's overseas crown dependencies and territories - i.e, to bring an end the the biggest tax havens and secrecy jurisdictions in the world. As anybody who has done work in the field of anti-corruption (or anybody who has read the excellent Treasure Islands) knows, a huge portion of the world's criminal money, including that of corrupt politicians globally, is hidden and recycled through the UK's tax haven system. It has deeply undermined democracies around the world, facilitated the mass transfer of wealth from the poorest regions of the globe, immiserated millions and given cover to the world's criminals, thieves and plunderers. A public register of true beneficial ownership, which reveals who really owns companies in places like the British Virgin Islands and the Caymans will blow the lid on corruption and criminality in a way that can barely be conceived. Forget the Panama papers - this would truly rock the whole world and advance democracy and accountability globally.

Oh, by the way, what is the Tory contribution to the fight against corruption? A commitment to close down the UK's Serious Fraud Office.

Here, in its full glory, is the paragraph that could change global politics fundamentally for the good:

'The current global tax system is deeply unjust. Africa’s economies alone lose more than £46 billion annually through corruption and tax evasion – more than 10 times what they receive in aid. Labour will act decisively on tax havens, introducing strict standards of transparency for crown dependencies and overseas territories, including a public
register of owners, directors, major shareholders and beneficial owners for all companies and trusts.'

"

Likely Murdoch and strong and stable sock puppet May will be doing their darnedest to keep that on the down low.

either way the rightwing press will be working on the next way to take down corbyn;

They shall simply ignore anything that doesn't fit the narrative.

Very little reporting of the Channel 4 debate, which seemed to have gone Corbyn's way.

He was bloody good on The One Show as well, heard a few people talking positively about it today.
The BBC haven't given it the same amount of coverage as they did for May's appearance, which was reported in every single bulletin.

Even David Dimbleby has noticed:[url=

30% seems to work for Germany. Why hasn't their industry relocated to Ireland?

Because I don't want to buy a car or premium household electrical appliance made there ? Corporate tax is so easy to avoid now a high rate is pointless and counterproductive. Iteland and Luxembourg have "stolen" hundreds of billions in tax from the rest of the EU via cushy deals. Why 30% in Germany or 20% in UK when you can pay 1% in Ireland / Lux etc.

@binners Lib Dems and Tories out in force around me face to face events inc an all party hustings and leafleting, was a Lib Dem seat for 20 years until 2015 now Tory again. Expecting bigger majority with Kippers joining Tory vote (leave constituency) plus further swing to Tories.

There's a very important proposal in the Labour manifesto that hasn't received any press coverage:

Alternative headline is: Labour propose colonial direct rule, army to deploy after election

As it might not be as simple as the manifesto claims.
