The latest one on briefings is madness
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/12/business/media/white-house-press-briefings-some-degree-of-accuracy-required.html
“Maybe the best thing to do would be to cancel all future ‘press briefings’ and hand out written responses for the sake of accuracy???” President Trump wrote on Twitter on Friday morning.
Claiming that it's not possible for the press sec and others to be accurate as things move to fast is treating people like idiots. the strain is starting to show, as suggested by a few he seems to not be taking any legal advice, suggestions that he taped the meeting with Comey without his knowledge are interesting to say the least.
It fascinating to watch until you realise he's the second most powerful person in the world.
After the Lizard Queen?
Trump's pick for USDA chief scientist is a non-scientist, climate-change skeptic, conservative talk radio show host
Sigh.
On the other news ... sorry to disappoint Trump's opponents ... 😆
They will be friends! As BBC reported here and here.
Like I said previously everyone loves trading and in that region it is about trading ... 😛
The North Korean nuclear war is not going to happen as there shall not be major fireworks to reduce world population. They have spoiled me entertainment to see some dog-fights etc 👿
Me prediction goood from the start for that region and I bet all of them will gang up to hammer the busy body liberals all over the world soon ... 😆
Good to see how real, normal Americans view their president for once, rather than all the leftie SJW's drama queens:
In other news:
And in other news Jeff honest fella Sessions ag forgot to remember that he had recused himself from anything to do with the Russian allegations (that involve him) when he recommended getting rid of the guy running the investigation. Oops
So to clarify insane, unbalanced, deluded leader might have some meetings with Kim jong-un.

Show me a saint like non-delusional leader from this world. 😆
Jose Mujica.

Jose Mujica.
Delusional (Mujica). If he thinks he can change the world.
He might have done well for himself but that does not mean he is saint like non-delusional.
Done well for himself, you mean lives on a pittance and gives his money to charity?
ninfan - MemberGood to see how real, normal Americans view their president for once,
Yep, this specially invited group of young people from an evangelical christian school are completely representative of America.
(read the comments to see some more real, normal americans.)

Sorry missed the obvious one, you set em up we knock them down. Least popular president ever? Lowest approval ratings. Does that mean the majority of Americans are leftie sjw's or whatever new lame insult your going for now?
Making Nixon look honest since 2017...
Edit - if your going to bother at least put some effort into, your bridge is going to be repossessed at this rate.
At least his tax return issues have been resolved, his lawyers say he has no monetary connections to Russia, apart from a few. So that's that settled then.
Yes. His money, his life so he is free to do as he wishes coz nobody is telling him what he should do with his assets etc. Does he have children? Why not give the money to his wife? Is his wife rich that she does not need money?akira - Member

Does he think he is morally superior in his ideology than others? Why yes/no? 🙄
Morally superior to Trump? Why yes I would certainly say so. Although to be fair that's not exactly much of a challenge.
They will be friends! As BBC reported here
I'm sure Kim Jong-un sees Trump as a like minded dictator.
Morally superior to Trump?
Ah, was that the challenge? Let me think then:
Robert Mugabe?
An interesting quote in something I was reading today
Mr. Drutman is particularly concerned by the way congressional leaders immediately backed Mr. Trump.“That suggests that partisan loyalty is still far more powerful than checks and balances,” he said.
Ms. Stokes worries about Mr. Trump’s temperament. “Political scientists assume that politicians are ambitious and mainly motivated by a desire to win and retain office,” she said. “It’s not an uplifting image of our leaders but at least it makes them predictable, their actions explicable. An ever-improvising president, one who is utterly undisciplined, even to the point of undermining his own positions — that really does worry me.”
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/12/opinion/how-worried-should-i-be.html
Sums up the lurching from one thing to the next with no real plan - or at least forgetting it and running off after something glinting over there and maybe a balloon floating up over here.
I'm not saying that its true....but wouldn't it be amazing....?
This is Louise Mensch's blog - she's been uncovering some really interesting stuff over the last 6 months
Trump’s presidency ended May 9th
Well if it's true at lease somebody might actually be listening to the briefings rather than watching Fox
Good to see how real, normal Americans view their president for once
I'm making what I think is the fairly safe assumption that ninfan knows that these youngsters are "specially invited evangelical christians" and that they are what he thinks is representstive of what he calls "real" Americans. Whether or not they can be described as "normal" is of course, a different discussion.
I suspect that he would be a lot happier if all Americans were to reflect this particular cultural niche.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if he was found to be longing for a permanent solution to the "problem" of the millions who don't fall into his view of what constitutes "normality".
It would would certainly offer a degree of finality...
Boltonjohn, from your article's first line...
Several sources familiar with the matter say that Senator Orrin Hatch of Utah is being given security briefings to prepare him for the Presidency.
I think Hatch was the designated survivor (during the inauguration), and holds a role not completely different from the speaker (ie a reliable old hand who can steer the ship if it all goes to shit in the event of a crisis) . It wouldn't be a massive surprise if was receiving security briefings.

I'm torn. I think that in the past she's been a fantasist but I'd really like her blog to be the truth in this case.

bigly
oops
is it Mossad hes upset?
could well be us. there was a senior ex spook on r4 about 3 months ago suggesting UK intelligence agencies didn't trust the trump camp. Stuff they had told the US was coming back via the Russians. I don't think at the time they thought it was Trump himself telling our secrets to the ruskies 🙂
David Kochel, Jeb Bush’s top strategist in the 2016 presidential campaign, tweeted: “John McCain probably revealed less to the KGB in 5+ years of torture at the Hanoi Hilton than Trump did in 5 minutes in the Oval.”
🙄
im in the very odd position of wanting louise mensch to be right about something!
Nice that he told the Russians the actual city the information came from. That should help them narrow down their search nicely.
Ninfan, do you remember how much you criticised Hillary for supposed breach of security?
It's got nothing on this....
To be fair to Trump the Russians did help him win the election and he gets a lot of money from them/ owes them a lot of money.....
It's got nothing on this....
Hillary doesn't get to decide what information she shares with our allies in return for collaboration and cooperation in the war on terror
The president does,
that's his constitutional role.
The president does, that's his constitutional role.
Except it wasn't really his intelligence was it. It was given with trust, it will stop intelligence sharing. Like the bloke in the pub desperate to show off how important he is, show what he knows. Pathetic as usual.
Remember how the majority of Americans feel about him

The president does,
i like that ninfan clings to the idea the donald actually understands what he did, how sweet.
ninfanHillary doesn't get to decide what information she shares with our allies in return for collaboration and cooperation in the war on terror
If there any evidence that Hillary's failure to suitably protect her emails actually lead to a breach in security.
ie not to a "possible breach of security" or "the risk of a breach of security" but an actual breach ie her emails were read by an external source?
As far as i can tell, the answer is no?
So whilst Hillary's actions were ill advised Trumps latest gaff is FAR more serious because it actually reveals security details to a foreign state.
I like the irony that the man who boasted that he was too smart to go to daily intelligence briefings and then later explained he prefers single page bullet-point briefings is now in trouble for revealing too much from those briefings. 😆

He also gets to be the one to take responsibility for doing so. Whether he likes it or not, the buck stops with him.
I'm just surprised he hasn't yet tweeted and top secret security stuff. Or maybe he has?

lock him up...
Things are certainly accelerating!! Very exciting!
Finally got around to watching 'Wag the Dog' last night. DeNiro & Hoffman in a classic '97 comedy about the lengths the White House will go to to protect the President
Awesome movie!!
pre latest gaffe approval ratings
Interesting that 538 are projecting improvements to his approval ratings in the future, suggesting they think we are at Peak Trump Disapproval (for now).
So he (DT) is now claiming he has the right to reveal security secrets which is probably true, he's the chief exec after all. But maybe, quite possibly, checking with your security advisers what can and can't be passed on might be worth thinking about.
Interesting that the spokesman says the Trump didn't whereas the Trump himself implies, sorry - tweeted, that he did.
