Why this bike? I like green!
But seriously, I was looking for a full-fat, gravity focussed eeb that didn’t look hideous, and that was long and slack seemed a bit of a challenge within my budget.
By luck I came across this. Not a brand I readily considered, but glad I went to see one in the flesh first.
My first EEB, enjoying it quite a bit at the moment. Clocked up my first 100 miles on this weekend at Wharncliffe.
Does everything I want it to. Straight into the slack seating from day one. The geo mirrors my Rocky Mountain Slayer. Most of aftermarket parts were bought to mirror the setup. Heavily gravity focussed.
Likely to change the rear shock for a coil in the near future, struggling to gel with the air.
Will also change the dropper when it gives up on life. Which judging by the way it feels when actuated is very soon.
The shop (shoutout to Damian Harris Cycles) did a fantastic job in getting it set up. Cube QC on assembly leaves a little to be desired. But thus far, apart from the product recall on the OEM cranks, it’s been faultless.

Nope. They’re for the Gen 5 Bosch so bolted straight on. I have Hope on my Slayer so thought I’d try something different, very happy with my decision.
Mate has one of these and loves it, as does another pal who’s looking to get one.

I have one of these in swimming pool blue and it is epic. So much fun going down, it’s bonkers. I have a love for very high rise bars, so 80 mm for me, 38 PE forks and I’ve kept the Suntour shock, which surprisingly, I’ve found to be spot on after getting the set up right; probably better than my Fox Performance Elite and Formula Coil (which I do love!) on other bikes. I need to up my adventurous picture game 😆
I actually think Cubes quality control is brilliant, or maybe Trailhead just sorted any issues when they built and checked it?!?
That’s the key, a decent bike shop makes all the difference. There was a little delay in being getting the bike because the shop had to spend a little more time lubing and torquing bolts.
That’s so much better looking than Mrs a11y’s Cube eMTB – a Stereo Hybrid 140 thing. Straight tubes just look better than curvy for the sake of it.
Apart from the weight, I’m impressed with her Cube – no issues with quality control here.

Yep. It’s the ‘Privateer’ style hump in the TT just behind the HT – just bleugh. It does then give it a nice straight transition from TT to SS though.
And Acros thru headset is a double whammy: Acros = pish, thru headset = double pish 😀
