Other than that i don't think i've ever seen you post until the last few hours.
you must be busy !
i have decided to have a xmas break, as the stress of striving to find non existent jobs is wearing me down-- maybe i need training in the art of 'hunting'-- but having spent 38 years in and out of work , think i do have some experience.
FWIW -i am an active trade unionist-- have been blacklisted in the past, cannot work for certain companies-- regrets i have none !!
truth is this a low wage low skill economy, where low wages are subsidised by the 'state'
erm, where do you think the 'state' gets its money?
I think you'll find that low wages are therefore subsidised by higher earners.
personally, as a 'right wing nutter(TM)' I think get rid of the subsidies - if a cleaner or shop worker can't afford to live in London, then companies will either have to entertain dirty offices and closed shops, or pay them more, or move the company to a cheaper part of the country!
In related news:
http://order-order.com/2012/12/18/priceless-plastic-59-support-alec-shelbrooks-welfare-cash-card/
Tory MP Alec Shelbrooke’s 10 Minute Rule Bill to introduce a welfare cash card for benefit claimants, especially those on JSA (but excluding disability payments and the basic state pension,) has gone down like a cup of cold sick with the left this afternoon. The food stamp 2.0 would see restrictions placed on booze, fags and Sky TV et cetera, and ensure the safety net was just that. Shelbrooke told the House earlier
Boom!

Or they'll just live in ghettoes.
Z11-- taxation subsidises all them big companies-- so yes the paye people pay more than --those who are creative with accountancy, and not to mention the starbucks style of exploitation..
race to the bottom--thats the economic miracle of deregulation
rudebwoy - Memberi have decided to have a xmas break
Well this is ****ing priceless!
FWIW -i am an active trade unionist-
..and it all becomes clear.
You think you're owed the world, all you lefty socialist types do. You're just not prepared to put in the graft for it.
Got chatting to one of your types recently, after I said there was no need for unions anymore, what with us not sending 8 year old children down t'pit et cetera.
"How would you like it if you had to work Sundays?"
"I do work Sundays."
"Well what if you had to work 12 hour shifts?"
"I frequently work longer shifts."
Unions, whilst once a necessity, are now nothing but a parasite.
I would go so far as to suggest it is the unions that are jointly responsible for this attitude of everyone feeling that they're owed something.
Wake up.
You're not.
druidh - MemberOr they'll just live in ghettoes.
I hardly think cleaners could afford to fly to work. 😉

This may come as a shock to you, but do you know where most of the taxes in this country are raised from?
Rich people.
Filthy stinking rich people.
Those people you loathe with searing jealousy; thank them for subsidising your entire existence.
"Mass unemployment is a price well worth paying to reduce inflation".Norman Lamont.Written by a young researcher called David Cameron I believe.
My mate's Union helped him out loads recently when he was being made redundant. Looked for a while that he was going to be screwed out of his redundancy pay (TUPE and all that jazz) but the Union's help and threat of legal action he walked away with what he was owed.
Employers are nothing but a parasite (sic).
Please tell me me what I believe now, you seem good at that.
in fact as a protest at your insane ranting i shall only consider employment that i feel is commensurate with my expectations-- you make sure you keep payin them taxes-- and on your headstone will be a big gold star !
seems that the right wing 'think' tank has leaked onto here !
You're just not prepared to put in the graft for it.
How hard will I need to work to become the Duke of westminster or the next monarch. Seems like you need to be lucky and be born to rich parents to pass on their wealth and contacts.
Its BS to suggest everyone rich works hard and to suggest every one poor is lazy.

Poor people
Bloody poor exploited people
They should thank us for not rioting and burning them in their mansions and allowing them to get rich and fat of our labour
I do so love a balanced and reasonable STW debate
Good to know that if Sbobs health breaks down, that despite him being Superman he will never claim sickness benefits or rely on others. He is an Island entire to himself.
monkeycmonkeydo - MemberBleeuurggghhh Thatcher!!!
Got a job yet?
What's your excuse?
Does it begin with T and end with a politician that hasn't been in power for over two decades?
Well she did for all the jungle canyon rope bridges round my way.
there is a vacancy for a spacewaster in the duke of cornwall's estate-- good remuneration, perks galore, just need a couple of references from connected chums and hey, gravy train for me !
Good to read sbobs mature, constructive and intelligent reaction to the points raised.Music to my ears.

Well, when I said "owed the world" I didn't specifically mean "become the duke of Westminster or the next monarch"
I should have made myself clearer.
Its BS to suggest everyone rich works hard and to suggest every one poor is lazy.
Quite right, though I find poor people who do work hard aren't the type
to think they're owed the world.
This may come as a shock to you but do you know where they get most of their money from

Yes, maybe all the members of STW should state their salary.
We can castigate all those over the average wage (I'm not one of them).
I do so love a balanced and reasonable STW debate
Just because you're not stupid and can put a point of view over with a modicum of eloquence, doesn't mean you're not a troll. 😛
monkeycmonkeydo - MemberGood to know that if Sbobs health breaks down, that despite him being Superman he will never claim sickness benefits or rely on others. He is an Island entire to himself.
I have private medical insurance.
sbob is so ignorant and uneducated he doesn't even realise N Lamont was working for John Major at the time. Not Lady Thatcher.

I know, its so exploitative, those ****s Wiggins, Hoy and Pendleton have exploited so many people on their way to the top, haven't they?
Not for the rest of your life you wont.If you have a serious health breakdown you will be reliant on others for the rest of your days.To think otherwise is childish arrogance.
Its a fine day for cheery picking data today Zulu
Did it pass you by i was taking up an extreme position like the poster I quoted and parodied?
Just because you're not stupid and can put a point of view over with a modicum of eloquence, doesn't mean you're not a troll.
Thats you that is 😉
monkeycmonkeydo - MemberGood to read sbobs mature, constructive and intelligent reaction to the points raised.Music to my ears.
What points?
We've had someone who's precious baby didn't get a job straight out of Uni, and I suggested why.
Someone with little to no experience of something thinking they know more than those with that experience.
Someone who hasn't got a job and would rather procrastinate on a forum than look for one.
You, who I believe have no job and blame everything on a politician from over two decades ago.
And Junkyard. 😆
If you have a car accident let's see pictures of that private ambulance picking you up.NOT.
sbob-- your world appears very stark and unforgiving--did you suffer trauma in an earlier life ?
monkeycmonkeydo - MemberIf you have a car accident let's see pictures of that private ambulance picking you up.NOT.
What is your point?
Are you gloating because I pay NI and for private medical care when you pay sweet Fanny Adams?
That is right, isn't it?
That you contribute nothing to society and still have the gall to moan about an administration from over fifteen years ago?
Tell me where I'm wrong.
i love all these right wing ideologues churning out their guff, if you could get them all in the same place you could drive a turbine with all that gas..
leonardo da vinci-- iirc-- said that some peoples only positive contribution to society was their 'night soil'==since we now flush it down the bog, what is it that you do sbob ?
rudebwoy - Membersbob-- your world appears very stark and unforgiving--did you suffer trauma in an earlier life ?
My world?
It's quite nice thanks.
Got food, clothing, shelter, good friends, a loving woman, and in a couple of weeks I'll be going on holiday for the first time in years. 🙂
Now off you scoot; those jobs won't find themselves, will they!
Chop chop! 😀
my life is a holiday, don't need to do much, a little admin every couple of weeks , and kick back, and relax...
Junkyard - MemberThats you that is 😉
Yeah, and I lied about the private health care. 😆
Yeah, and I lied about the private health care.
you the guy that works 80 hours plus a week innit, you going to burn out before you get a pension-- in fact i wouldn't bother with one , if i were ye, in germany they work much less hours for much more dough....i let you work that one out ...

I might do 80 hours, I might do 8.
I don't see what the Germans, who work less, earn less, and have a lower disposable income have to do with anything... 🙂
I've reappraised my opinion. You're not David Ike or Paul Dacre, but a resurrected crap Harry Enfield Character, brought back from the Thatcher era to haunt us. LOADSAMONEEEEEEEY!!!!!!!
I've already stated that I earn less than the national average wage, are you ever going to make a point?
I've made plenty. You just seem to be struggling to address them, in between the 'aren't I bloody great, me?' Self-reverential eulogies
So many trolls, so little time!

All I've done is use my experience to counter other people's opinion.
I'm sorry if that comes across as self-reverential, but maybe that self respect is what got me into a job. 💡
you still bangin that old drum sbob-- you know the old saying about empty vessels ...
S for Sponge?
done a bit of buskin earlier for an hour, people seem to be in generous mood tonight- was going to get some cheap drink but can now afford a bottle of mount gay rum and six bottles of budvar !!
