Apparently " the thinking persons tiktok" - short clips of Tedtalk type facts, knowledge, positive stuff, rather than dogs in hats dancing to Lady GaGa. Or at least according to blurb.
Just wondered if anyone used it and would recommend it as an alternative to the usual SM trash
I thought this was going to be some way of "photoshopping' facial hair onto folks profile pics.
i thought something to do with going to prison
The deep stash effort worked years ago but I don't think I'd advise relying on it these days, My girlfriend used the deep stash method to bring back charas and a wee black lump of opium from India 25years ago......
On a more serious note, any short clip videos merely fire up, then drain your dopamine receptors and offer the equivalent of a fast food fix
I can't even cope with tiktok or Deepstash now, ive just not got the attention span anymore to even finish a

Yeah, load of bollocks I reckon.
You can convince yourself you're learning or soaking up less vacuous stuff, whatever - scrolling is scrolling, it won't sink in. It's that same dopamine loop that supports the same behaviour.
Read a book.. F the algorithms. The only way to win is not play the game.

That's not actually true. Well, not in my case.
I looked up more about Deepstash (had seen it advertised in IG posts) - the part of the app that could work then is the part that is quite different to the summary in the OP. There's a Duolingo type aspect and condensed books feature to it if you pay so there's learning potential there. If that works for you or helps change a habit, great. Podcasts, books, condensed books, learning pattern apps, whatever works.
So I'm sure it's not entirely true, no, but whatever the content the habit that needs to be broken is the scrolling and looking, the endless search without knowing what you're looking for or similar patterns. Perhaps I should give it more credit as a halfway house off social media rot and into something more engaging.
As an aside there's a school in the US (Alpha School) that uses AI to deliver individual teaching to classes monitored by adults who don't teach directly. The AI adjusts content to find gaps that need filling before they can progress, which are different for each child and each child progresses differently. Simple principle - you can't learn level 2 until level 1 is understood. They claim great results, there's some criticism of it but the learning pattern seems sound. It's similar to how any of us can use an LLM to learn a topic.
I thought this was going to something to do with old skool hedge porn.
