I seem to have read conflicting info regarding if I am permitted to use a junction box on a ring main and adhere to 17th Edition regulations.

I need a couple of spurs into 2 different FSU units. To make it tidier inside the back boxes I was thinking I'd just have a junction box under the floor boards taking a single spur cable up in behind the FSU. Does anyone know if this is permitted?

Your junction boxes need to be easily accessible for inspection. If you are using maintenance free junction boxes yes if not then no. If I'm wrong somebody who does this on a daily will be by soon enough to put my sorry ass right.

Just managed to find a document linked from TLC. Yep looks like I'll need maintenance free junction boxes. Thanks.
