Just been out with my mate and he had a puncture even though he'd added some sealant (Stans) to his innertube

Does this stuff not work in freezing conditions ??

There's antifreeze (ethylene glycol) in all of these products, but at some point it's not enough and everything freezes.

Putting more gloop in should help a bit, or adding additional antifreeze yourself.

Obviously antifreeze being dumped into the environment is not ideal, it being toxic. Perhaps a chemist or biologist could comment on the impact it has?

I dunno but the Stans in my wheels has balled up, I can hear it rolling around inside my tyres. Could be the sub zero conditions or maybe just because it's a few months old.

Had a puncture on my last ride, managed to get it to seal but when I went back to the bike a few days later the tyre was flat. I just took the valve core out and squirted some more sealant in, but this time I'm using No Flats (simply 'cos it was cheaper than Stans). Been fine since.
