Hey all, I just bought a used carbon Zaskar that came with RockShox SIDs. I'm going to use some other forks I have, so will be selling these. Trouble is, I can't work out what vintage they are.
They don't have the power-bulge, are IS mount, and have a pretty neat brace. The guy who sold me the bike said they were SID World Cups. I'm pretty sure the decals are new after a service, making identification trickier.
I've put some pics below - any RS aficionados care to help me identify what year they might be?
Not World Cups, they're circa 2003 Teams. The fork didn't change externally until 2007, but the lockout did, that looks to have Climb-It Control, with the plastic lever and the release button in the middle. That was replaced with Motion Control and Poploc.
That early? I was thinking they'd be more like an 05 or 06. Thanks for the advice!
Holes for brake bosses always dates somthing as old. Still be a nice light fork though just a bit flexy maybe
Yes, it is very light. I was surprised how un-flexy it is to be honest. I had an 80mm SID on my first proper MTB, a GT Zaskar from 2000, and the SIDs on that would visibly flex just riding along a smooth bit of tarmac. These ones seem much stiffer. They're immaculate as well - must have been sitting in someone's house unused.
