what seems a very long time ago, back in the early IIRC days of 29ers, i bought a Chumba HX2 frame from a very nice bloke called Simon.  i seem to remember it was possibly the first one in the UK.

built it up with a pretty robust build, saint brakes, xt arms with a single Boone Ti ring, White bros forks and a custom wheelset, hope hubs on Kris Holm unicycle rims.   it was a pretty robust lump.

a photo popped up recently with the bike, possibly in the Lakes on a STW ride.    would love to see it again.

anyone know what happened to Chumba over here ?

Wow, I'd completely forgotten them. But I was really tempted by one at some point - I can't remember what made it so attractive (price?) but I definitely went close to buying.

Yes, but I’m pretty sure they got up again.

Si convinced me to buy a chumba full suss (VF2?) which I really liked, and had good service from him. He used to post here as (IIRC) Si@progressivebikes and was very helpful when I got the bike, probably in 2007? Don’t know if the bike company or progressive bikes still exist, sold mine through the classifieds on here I think when the wheel size (26”) passed it’s best before date , bought a 29er from KMB (also now sadly gone).
