Had a ride up at Alwinton a couple of weeks a good. Great route inspired by on the Derek Purdy classics. I put a video together with some selected highlights, check it out here:

Did this with the wife last week - except missed the right turn along the valley following the climb from Barrowburn. Kept on climbing back to the outward track which gave us a good descent into back into Alwinton.
Nice loop, more fitness and views than tech stuff. Good cafe at Barrowburn.
I thought it was ace, proper old school Northumbrialand trails, did a similar loop a few years back and it just feels really big and wild in a good way.
You should have filmed it today then you wouldn't have had a problem keeping the lens clear 🙂
Aye, it was a canny ride, no doubt I'll be heading back up soon. Spotted a couple of 'diversions' that can be taken in Kidland Forest and out the other side.
