Focus was founded by three-time cyclocross World Champion Mike Kluge in 1991, and originally specialised in mountain bikes. It later expanded its range to include touring bikes, moved into the road market in 2003 and has developed a range of e-bikes and e-mtbs more recently.
The Focus Bikes Company HQ and administration is based in Stuttgart, Germany with production facilities based in Cloppenburg, Germany. Focus is owned by Derby Cycle of Germany, which operates under ownership of the Pon Holdings Bicycle Group.
