Focus wasfounded by three-time cyclocross World Champion Mike Kluge in 1991, and originally specialised in mountain bikes. It later expanded its range to include touring bikes, moved into the road market in 2003 and has developed a range of e-bikes and e-mtbs more recently.
The Focus Bikes Company HQ and administration is based inStuttgart, Germany with production facilities based inCloppenburg,Germany. Focus is owned by Derby Cycle of Germany, which operates under ownership of thePon HoldingsBicycle Group.
