  • Drop Bars? Never! – Benji has an issue with drop bars off road. Are they really the worst thing ever? But are they also the most beautiful?
  • Last Word – Tom Simpson comes out from his bike mechanic troll bridge to complain about another thing. This time, electric shifters are in his line of fire.

Singletrack Owner/Publisher

Mark has been riding mountain bikes for over 30 years and co-owns Singletrack, where he's been publisher for 25 years. While his official title might be Managing Director, his actual job description is "whatever needs doing" – from wrangling finances and keeping the lights on to occasionally remembering to ride bikes for fun rather than just work. He's seen the sport evolve from rigid forks to whatever madness the industry dreams up next, and he's still not entirely sure what "gravel" is. When he's not buried in spreadsheets or chasing late invoices, he's probably thinking about his next ride.

  1. I like the bikepacking stuff, so for me the ‘Baja Haha’ and ‘Intertrailing’ features were of most interest, great pics too.
I’d like to see the photos captioned though, so I can see how the pics link to the feature/route, plus more maps 🙂 I thought the route guides of a few years ago were good, and use of OS maps to accompany them.
I’m less fussed about reviews of spendy stuff and features on competitive events/riding, but then that’s me.

  2. I hate to be that person but it needs an option for none of the above.
It’s the first time I’ve bothered looking at the magazine for a few months and it made me realise why I never read it. Not a single article in there held any interest for me.

  3. I love the adventure stories. I can sit by the fire with a glass and pretend I’m there.

Jenn at Ten just resonates with me on a personal level at the moment though. It was such a good piece of writing, I loved it, thank you.
