At Singletrack this week it’s Anthony’s birthday. Ant looks after the tech side of Singletrack World. Think of him as the hamster overlord of technical things I don’t understand (Ed – that’s quite a broad remit).
Ant is a Volped
He doesn’t ride a bike!
Calm down, Yeah, I know, but it’s OK.
You see, the great thing about having a “volped” (voluntary pedestrian) in the office is on days like this week when Nick Craig showed us the new Scott*, most of the staff were doing carpark laps and talking about wattage to kg ratios… and Ant wasn’t. Sometimes it’s all about the things you don’t do. Every team needs a volped.
FREE Singletrack Forum Bottle Opener Worth £7.99
For Ant’s birthday bonzer bargain we choose a tool that even a non-cyclists can use. It’s the wonderful Singletrack Forum Bottle Opener.
When the forum gets clunky, Ant is the guy who gets under the STW bonnet and squirts virtual WD40 at interweb thingies, for he is the facilitator of forum bollocks.
Happy and smiley he may be, but Hannah uses him to threaten her kids. They have figured out how to get round parental phone controls that Hannah doesn’t fully understand, and have been known to blame mysterious liftings of restrictions on (plausible) glitches and update bugs. But Ant once worked for Apple, so the words ‘I’m going to take your phone into work to show Ant’ are especially useful in eliciting confessions of inappropriate phone use. Gotta stay one step ahead…
Simply spend £20 in the Singletrack Merch Store, use code “volped28” at checkout, and a free Forum beer tool will be added to your basket.

*The Scott Lumen is really rather brilliant.
