Inside The Line – DH World Cup through the eyes of a coach

by 0

This new video series from e*thirteen will look at each of its sponsored teams, with their coaches taking the lead in providing the perspective on the Downhill World Cup. While tech and bike set up will still be key issues, expect to see more of what goes into the mental preparation for a race, and the course analysis that goes into finding that perfect line and those milliseconds of speed.

The series will feature the teams sponsored by e*thirteen MS Mondraker, Commencal / 100%, NS
Bikes UR Team, and the Intense Factory Racing Team. The first team to feature is MS Mondraker, with the fast turnaround edit being shot in practice at the first round of the World Cup in Lourdes, France. Eleonora Farina, Brook Macdonald, Tuhoto Ariki and David Trummer will all be looking to get their season off to a solid start. If you’re looking for clues as to who will win, what the challenges are on the Lourdes course, or what each rider’s goal is for this race and the season ahead, these videos will be worth a watch.

The MS Mondraker team arrive in Lourdes just a few days ahead of the first UCI Downhill World Cup Season. The spiritual city hosts this epic event for the third time in history, but with a very fresh track. Meet the MS Mondraker team riders as they touch down after not seeing each other in 6 months. Peek into the team’s new kits as they unpack for the season and witness first hand meet and greet with the media as they stand days away from competing for the podium.

I came to Singletrack having decided there must be more to life than meetings. I like all bikes, but especially unusual ones. More than bikes, I like what bikes do. I think that they link people and places; that cycling creates a connection between us and our environment; bikes create communities; deliver freedom; bring joy; and improve fitness. They're environmentally friendly and create friendly environments. I try to write about all these things in the hope that others might discover the joy of bikes too.
