In an adventure supported by YT Industries, Amanda sets out to bag some Scottish Munros, returning instead with epic memories, incredible experiences and more than a few bruises.
Not shy of a challenge, when Amanda was asked ‘How many Munros is too many to do in one day?’, she promptly got in touch with Pete Scullion to plan a route and tricked her good friend Vicky into joining her. ‘Do you fancy riding a Munro, I’ll lend you a really light bike?’…
In issue 134 of Singletrack Magazine, Amanda tells the truth about an adventure that may seem glorious from the photos, but had more going on behind the scenes. From the bellowing stags rutting in their path, to her Womb of Doom challenging her pain threshold. If you’re a woman whose riding has suffered due to menstrual issues, you’ll relate. If you’re a bloke, you might find it interesting just how resilient women can be when their body is doing everything it can to hold them back.
‘Ah look at the cute… stags…’ Crash Bandicoot ripped her pants.
There were plenty of mishaps along the way, but the ride is fantastic, the landscape breathtaking, and it’s all parcelled up in a relatable package. We’re not always on top form, and that’s OK.
