Mountain Bike Personality Of The Year – Singletrack Reader Awards 2019 Finalists

by 0

This is a hard one. What is a personality? Is it someone you’d like to have dinner with, because you know it would be entertaining? Is it someone you admire? Is it someone who has loads of Instagram followers? Or someone who’s put something into the sport? Maybe it’s all these things and more, maybe it’s a magic mixture of them all. Here’s who has been nominated for your vote, and why:

The Finalists – Mountain Bike Personality Of The Year

Ben Cathro

Downhill racer, mountain bike coach, YouTube star… Ben Cathro combines riding skills, sick edits and sharp humour with some proper insight and analysis. With such a variety of watchable content, it’s no wonder he has 54,000 YouTube subscribers.

Sam Pilgrim

Professional freerider and former FMB champion, Sam Pilgrim brings his cheeky Essex style to his 678,000 YouTube subscribers, who lap up his tips, travel VLOGS and often painful looking antics. Unsuitable bikes, urban hard-edged riding and lots of tricks keep the viewers coming.

Veronique Sandler

Eschewing racing in favour of shits and giggles, Vero has been showing that women do Freeride too. From low key videos messing around in the woods with the 50:01 crew, to a fully fledged movie ‘Vision’ in which she scours the world for the best trails before designing her own dream line at Revolution Bike Park in Wales. Effortless style make her videos flow, and her humble enthusiasm for riding and high stoke make her a personality worthy of this nomination.
