Mountain bike jerseys signed by Rachel Atherton, Greg Minaar and Nino Schurter as well as a coaching session with Dave Hemming are up for auction this weekend at the Team Rwanda Cycling fundraising film night hosted by Giro Cycles in Esher, Surrey.

The evening begins with a screening of the critically acclaimed Rising from Ashes movie, which tells the harrowing but inspiring story of how a group of genocide survivors teamed up with ex-pro Jock Boyer to create Team Rwanda Cycling, and how their most famous rider – Adrien Niyonshuti – went on to represent Rwanda in XC at London 2012 (he is currently a Team Dimension Data World Tour Team rider).

Team Rwanda Cycling has become a beacon of hope and inspiration to Rwandans to strive for a better life. As a non-profit organisation it relies heavily on donations to support its work and this event, on Saturday 23rd April, is part of the on-going fund raising campaign.

Mountain bike related goodies on offer include signed jerseys from Rachel Atherton (2015 World MTB Champion jersey), Greg Minaar and Nino Schurter (2015 World MTB Champion jersey). You can also bid for a full day mountain bike handling session with Dave Hemming, and a half day off-road ‘taster session’ with Anna Glowinski.

Roadies can take their pick from signed kit donated by Evelyn Stevens, Laura Trott and Elinor Baker, Alex Dowsett, Team Dimension Data, One Pro Cycling and Team Rwanda.

Also on offer are a signed copy of Flying Fergus by Chris Hoy, a portrait of Bradley Wiggins by Geoff Waugh, Giro d’Italia memorabilia and a training camp experience in Rwanda.

The auctioneer for the night will be Dan Jarvis, voice of cycling at UCI races around the world (and Singletrack contributor!) who is a long-term fan of Team Rwanda.
