Eurobike 2015: Evil

by 4

Oh, now this is lovely. Ladies and gentlemen, we give you the Evil Insurgent. Yummy:DSC_1142A smidge over 150mm of travel, with the usual ‘Long, Low, Slack’ words attached, and it’s the first Evil to cater to 27.5in wheels.

DSC_1145  Gorgeous chain device. Carbon, you know.DSC_1143 The suspension is a single pivot, with lots of linkage between it and the shock, which apparently give it a dual rate curve. The whole shebang was designed by Mr Weagle.
DSC_1146 Internal rear mech routing. It’s 1x specific. Prices start at $2799; UK prices TBC

DSC_1148And here’s The Following, which was announced earlier this year. A 29er ripper with the usual low, long, slack stuff again. Looks gorgeous in the flesh.DSC_1149A similar pivot and linkage system yields 120mm of travel in a dual rate fashion. We like.

Barney Marsh takes the word ‘career’ literally, veering wildly across the road of his life, as thoroughly in control as a goldfish on the dashboard of a motorhome. He’s been, with varying degrees of success, a scientist, teacher, shop assistant, binman and, for one memorable day, a hospital laundry worker. These days, he’s a dad, husband, guitarist, and writer, also with varying degrees of success. He sometimes takes photographs. Some of them are acceptable. Occasionally he rides bikes to cast the rest of his life into sharp relief. Or just to ride through puddles. Sometimes he writes about them. Bikes, not puddles. He is a writer of rongs, a stealer of souls and a polisher of turds. He isn’t nearly as clever or as funny as he thinks he is.
