Oh, I know it’s not the most exciting of topics, but the doyens of the waterproof tootsietoaster are branching out into new avenues… they’re launching a spring/summer collection.
WTF?
Well, the idea is that the waterproof sockage we know and love is a bit, well, hefty for summer use – so there’s now a range of gloves and socks in a more thin cut for spring and summer. There are waterproof offerings, of course, but there are also water-resistant ones too, to massively increase breatheability and generally make them a bit less sweaty, whilst retaining some of the waterproofing properties. The MTB Trail Ankle and mid length socks are apparently made of a durable absorbent stuff called ISOLFIL to make them more breatheable and .. oh, you know the drill.
The gloves feature little touches like touchscreen compatability on the Madeleine Classic, with a water repellant back…And the dragon eye trail has a synthetic suede palm, and it touted as their do-it-all trail glove. Looks interesting.
The new socks have a silicone seal to stop water ingress from the big hole at the top, are seamless, and generally look pretty nice. The fabric doesn’t seem to thick, and we reckon they might well work as every-day socks, for when the weather gets a bit poo.
They’ve also got the Halo overshoe, which is a neoprene overshoe with a flashy light in each heel. It’s a pretty neat idea – and lighter-weight MTB ones are apparently available/on the way.

Anything on sizes in the socks? Have they added any extra ones? The current up to size 8 is slightly too small for me, making the size 9+ marginally too big…
They are my go to socks for wet wintery rides.
