Fort William Mountain Festival Bike Night coming up

by 0

It’s this time of year, which means Fort William is hosting the four-day mountain festival again. The bike night is taking place on this Thursday 21 February, so if that’s not in your schedule yet, you know what to do.

Former pro downhill riders Rob Warner (turned commentator) and Stu Thomson (now mountain bike film maker) will be among the compere Nigel Page’s guests – so will our very own Chipps.

Stu Thomson

“I reckon that having Rob and Pagey – the two commentators from ‘that’ Danny Hart Video is going to be worth it alone – especially if we can get them to reinact it: “This is INSANE” and “Stay on your bike Danny!”. And then you have Stu Thomson, made some great videos, including Danny Macaskill’s Industrial Revolutions,” Chipps said.

If you for some reason haven’t seen ‘that’ Danny Hart Video yet (or just want to watch it a 100th time) – here it is.

Film night with Q&A

The event starts at 19:00, and they will present their favourite mountain bike films before finishing off with a light-hearted Q&A session.

Chipps said: “Perhaps I’m just the comedy sidekick for these guys, who are all ex-pro racers, but I’m looking forward to seeing the films they’ve picked and being there for the banter.”

The rules for entering the competition was simple, as usual. “Make a film. Upload it. Compete!” as they say on their website. Two prizes are up for grabs: Films shot in the Outdoor Capital of the UK and films shot from the rest of the world.

I guess it’s good for the competition that ‘that’ Danny Hart Video is not in the mix..

Tickets can be purchased online here.
