Fancy sponsoring me and you can win a TV? Fancy riding some or all of the route with me? *TV, radio and newspapers will (*probably) be reporting it. Papers and radio have confirmed and I only thought of doing it yeterday morning.

On the 14th July 2012, I’m going to cycle from Olympic Park to Manchester Velodrome. Aproximately 200 miles. It’d be lovely to see some of you on the road that day. It would also be double lovely if you would be kind enough to donate £1 to my charity http://www.sah.org.uk/ at my page http://www.justgiving.com/stannsbigbikeride. Every £1 donation will get you a ticket in to a prize draw, to be held at the hospice the day aftee the ride to win a 19″, HD ready, Freeview equiped TV. Just email your details: name, text number, address, whatever you like and I’ll let you have your ticket number(s).

I was going to do it for MIND also (I’m rapid cycling bipolar) but that was a little self indulgent. Sorry MIND, I hope you don’t…mind that is.

***I promise I’m not going to spam the forum. Pleaase don’t nuclear bomb my post. I’ll maybe give it a prod or two of the coming couple of months but I’m loath to get on people’s nerves with it*****

my email for the ride is stannsbigbikeride@gmail.com
    blog is: http://stannsbikebikeride.blogspot.co.uk/
    twitter is: stannsbigbike
facebook is: St Ann’s Big Bike Ride.
Any publicity, links, mentions etc will be greatly appreciated

Thank you sir! The first donater is STW’er! Makes me proud! :-). I’ll get some raffle tickets on the way Mr, thank you very much.
I’ll be publishing the route on the blog with expected timings. It’d be ace to see some of you along the way.
In fact NBT, if you could oblige with the tandem somewhere north of Stoke?…..

Excellent stuff the flatboy:-). Now, where’s your quid?

    What a brilliant idea.

Is the tandem for you or can I come along too?

Thank you Jane. it’s very much appreciated. Desperate times call for desperate measures. They’re under the cosh financially and the only thing I’m any good at is pedalling.
I volunteered to help on the wards. I’m sure she (you know who) had a little heart attack at the prospect.
I don’t mind who the captian is as long as the stoker (me) can go to sleep 🙂
If anybody else coud find just a £1…it’d be greatly appreciated and you could win a TV. More prizes to come, No doubt bike related.
St. Ann’s (and all the hospices) do an amazing job and it riles me greatly that they are charities.
Currently have a 24 year old single mum in for instance. 2 year old daughter with no other family is spending nights at one of the staff nurses homes!
    It humbles me………..

Thanks loads Mint and Andrew. It’s really appreciated. If you could just chuck a telephone number or address or something to stannsbigbikeride@gmail.com I can text or post ticket numbers to you both. You’re in it so you could win it as they say 🙂

Are you passing our house any time soon Monksie? As I would like to buy some tickets and also donate (wait for it) a non bike related item for any ladies who don’t cycle – ‘A pink Union Jack sling bag’.
I’ll get nbt to post up a picture of it later.

That would be immense Jane, thank you! I’m well chuffed!
I’ll be around your parts over the weekend if that’s any good? I need to drop Jules tickets in as well.
Thanks to everybody who have sponsored me so far. Over £100 already and it only started today.
To everybody who has sent some money from here but haven’t emailed contact details, I’ve written up tickets for you in your on screen names with (STW) as well and I’ll post up the winners name(s) on this thread and email to your profiles. Chief Exec at the hospice is doing the draw so it’ll all be proper 🙂
I’m doing my best to ignore Hoops but he makes it hard 🙂
That’s really generous of you Ro5ey, thank you and again, thank you to all who have sponsored me so far.

    OH-MY-VERY-WORD…..ELFIN!!! You GEEZER!!!!!!!

I have to confess, Elf and I had a crossing of swords. I was horrible to him, I was being a superior eejit. NO excuses about not being well….I was mean.

The very man has done a donation and is maybe coming to see me at the start! (Please don’t chin me. I’ll have a lot of peddaling to do with a busted jaw).

The penny has only just dropped who I’ve been chatting with via email. Thank you very much Sir. Hugs and kisses and tickets allocated.

Hoops! You’re as barking as I am!
Thank you very much Jane. Let me know what time you’re home and I’ll make arrangements although Saturday is a big ride day (I better get started) and Sunday afternoon / evening I have to take Emily to Liverpool Echo Arena. Young Money Cash Money’s finest : Drake.
    She can barely sleep 🙂
Your bag is generating quite an interest here at work and I’ve put your emmyjanedesigns blog thingy on the Just Giving site. Everybody is waiting for payday. I think I need to rethink the target amount.

The bag is now up on my blog site (with 4 other new ones, if anyone would like to view it), and thanks for telling everyone, much appreciated.

Would you believe that little minx elfinsafety (Fred) is in the middle of ordering something from me too. I may even put him on my Christmas card list 😉 Do you think he’ll look good prancing around That London sporting a floral Cath Kidston sling bag?

Probably see you Sunday, although we’ll be out riding ourselves at some point.

I’ll get Jules to send you a pm when he’s time.

    just while I’m ‘ere….
I took a coping saw to the rear pads last night and cut me some X’s. I reckon I’ve got about 20% more stop out of them 🙂 They’re now peeling the rim chrome off, which is nice. I’ve also fangled the chain tug which the freewheel seemed to appreciate. The two front pegs are going to be turned into Salt’n’Pepper pots eventually.
AAANNNNDDD I’ve altered the front brake hanger washers to get some more bite.
1 more: I’ve also stuck ODI Ruffian grips.

I’ve already been laughed at twice by the youfff but this morning I got my first “naaice bike mistah”. 8)

I suppose it’s inevitable but yet more sad news from St. Ann’s this morning.
I’m bewildered how they make such a sad place so very special and often full of laughter. I’m humbled. Sorry. I’m going for a ride for a bit.

Humbled again! Jedi http://www.ukbikeskills.co.uk has donated a voucher for a place on one of his immense skills courses.
Legend. Thank you Tony. Immense generosity.
Get your ealy bid in. I’m going to open an auction (of sorts) on the classifieds tomorrow for it.

Thank you Voodoo, very generous. If your tickets win something, I’ll let you know and if you are determined not to have it, I’ll either donate the item to the hospice or Ebay it and add the selling price to the fund.

Can I take this opportunity to say thank you to everybody who has donated (tickets for the draw are allocated each day and I’ll let you all know your numbers – IHN has 85 of the buggers!), donated a prize, sent best wishes, offered cake, offered a bed for the night, paid for a bed for the night….I bet you’re all bored of me saying it but I stop and look and it’s humbling.
11 weeks until the off, 1 week into raising cash and already almost at £500!
    Thanks everyone, you’re all mint!
