Not really a fan of crisps but this morning in sainsburys i managed to buy a 5 pack of Burtons fishnchips crisps, a fine crisp from my youth. Tasted exactly the same as i remember them and as a kid i would always have them when out riding with my mates.

Walkers cheese and onion, while still very much current in the crisposphere, remind me of times in the pub with dad many moons ago.

Burton’s Fish n Chips thankfully seem to have avoided the fad of reducing the salty flavour to a minimum.

Alanf +1 – used to be the midweek post ride recovery meal, along with a pint of whatever the guest ale was.

    * yeah, I know they’re a corn based snack, rather than an actual crisp, but they still count

I think we can all agree we are the best country IN THE WORLD for crisps.

Seabrook Gralic & Herb remind me of my time at uni 20 years ago. The uni shop sold them and I’ve never tasted them before.

I’ve never seen them since and seabrooks don’t do them anymore.

I’ve half a memory that they used to do some sort of curry flavoured ones that were mega. Tandoori? Maybe.

That was my first thought when reading this thread, they must still be on sale somewhere?

    edit: google says no

Scampi and lemon niknaks. For some reason remind me of a certain skanky lass I knew when I was 14.

salt and shake without the salt, but instead drenched in worcester sauce from the bottle until you had a gooey worcester saucey potato mess at the bottom of the bag.

Not wanting to be pedantic, but aren’t Fish n’ Chips actually crackers rather than crisps?

A non-crisp savoury snack I miss is curry flavour Twiglets 🙁

    Tudor crisps. Best adverts too.

Skips are good too but are they a crisp?

Yep, showing my age as well. Used to get them down Durham ice rink when I was a kid, probably talking 52 years ago now. 😯

A group of themed snacks to remember indeed, though I thought Bones let them down a bit. These were my favourite…

Also the Smiths Gammon Flavour crisps of yore pictured in Drac’s pic. So strong I reckon someone actually cocked up and pushed the flavour button one too many times.

Seabrooks Tomato flavour crisps – used to have them at school. Every time someone launches a tomato type crisp I try them in the hope they taste the same – invariably they don’t 🙁

They sell golden wonder in the canteen at work. The Salt and vinegar ones have got some serious power. Put s&v from other brands to shame. Bacon monster much were the one – until I bit into a large clump of the flavouring that had made it’s way into the pack. Put me right off.
