I was scanning the web today for the same thing. KS seems to be worth a look (this is a note to myself, not a recommendation). I have a Mk1 Soul so internal routing is no good. Seeing as I never drop my post by more than 25mm I'm prepared to be amazed.

I couldn't find a KS in stock anywhere so ordered a Hi-Lo from CRC.

I don't think you'll find a better value one. Just put one on my Sons inbred. Remote works well. Time will tell how it lasts.

Bike-discount have the ks stuff in stock. I have a lev integra, all seems good after 5 or so rides.

I've been running KS Levs for ages. I love them.

German availability of full posts and spares is usually better than UK.

If it was me I'd be seriously considering the extra for the Lev or DX over the eten, simply because of the cable box. I love the routing to it and how the cable isn't moving with the post.

Just bought that E-ten for the gravel bike for the more gravel based rides.... £55 is a bit of a bargain.
Will report back if it's any good...

i got the eten for £55 a month ago. i wanted a cheap dropper on my xc bike as im not comfortable with the seat at full extension on drops/jumps and its a pain on long climbs having to stop to raise it an inch or so. it took a while to get used to the under seat lever rather than bar mount but now im used to it , it works great for the purpose i bought it for .the only thing i hate is the weight but i cant afford to spend hundreds on a all singing all dancing post and of course with a remote i would use it much more.cant complain at all for £55 quid though

The weight won't bother me, my gravel bike is 24.5lbs as it is with carbon wheels and seapost.

Even arrived today.
Heavy as stated... 685g on the Postoffice scales, so around 100g heavier than a 'standard remote' dropper.
But other than that all good.
It came without the box l, but with the original manual.

@monkeyboyjc

Does the post have adjustable saddle angle?

The Ebay link suggests not but the pictures on the bikediscount.de site appears to show it as being adjustable.

Does anyone know the total length of the eBay £55 post? I am short and my 16" frame has seat tube bottle bosses that prevent the seat post being inserted very far. Wondered if one of these would be too long for me.

I ordered the £55 stem after seeing the above link... As said it's a bit of a weight and comes without box but instructions.

The head is the usual KS head so saddle angle is adjustable.

Drewd..... Size info is on the KS site. This is for the 2017 eten. Not sure if that's what these are but here you go

Edit.... Just measured the post to the drawing. Same dimensions 🙂

Excellent, thanks. I shall measure my frame later.

Whoops sorry only just seen the questions....
Just fitted, not ridden yet though.

Does the post have adjustable saddle angle?

Yes it does, but as it's a single bolt design it's not as adjustable as a two bolt design. If you have a 'traditional' frame design then it'll be fine.

Here's an odd one I solved...

Fitted the post but had very poor drop and rise speed and would occasionally not work at all....

Turns out the lever was stopping on my saddle when lifted... Had a spare old lever and chopped the end off and swapped into the new post. Now goes up and down a treat with its stumpy looking hacksawed lever... 🙂

Cracking post for £55 though. Fingers crossed it lasts.

First proper on/off road shake down with the ETen this morning, first impressions are OK. Issues I had were an occasional pogoing where I'd hit a bump and it would act like a suspension seapost - not that bad a thing on the rough stuff, but it was annoying on the road.
Also had a similar issue to survivor, the lever got stuck a few times up near the saddle, however it wasn't fouling anything. First thoughts are it needs a bit of grease in there to stop it sticking.

I had to butcher the front under saddle trim to allow the flappy lever to go far enough to operate.

I think the eten are a load of rubbish  - I suppose you get what you pay for.

Thomson. The under saddle lever is still being made by a company in America. I bought one and works excellent and well made.

Had 27.2mm ks external eten-r and a brand x internal 27.2mm post

Both roughly the same price but the brand x is much better, smoother & comes with a paddle lever

The external ks eten-r has a short drop, feels un smooth as it nears full extension and makes a little noise

Unfortunately Brand x don't make a external 27.2mm post so im stuck with the ks eten-r

Old old thread, but, KS have just lanched a load of new 27.2s- the e20i, e30i, and a longer Lev, all at 120mm.

Lev is still only 100mm and the other two are internal only which seems a bit daft as most 27.2 frames aren't going to be drilled for droppers surely.

The lev's coming in 120mm I think. The internal thing is easily resolved since most 27.2 mountain bikes are old, so you can just whack a hole in em. (you can put a hole in a new frame too, I have, but it's a bit more worrisome)
