I'm venturing into the world of dropper posts for my full sus, which only gets used approx 20 times a year (shame, but that's what you get for living in the flatlands).
So, without spending a fortune are there any reliable posts out there? Needs to be external routing and bar lever operation. Cheers

I know others have had different experiences, but the two 27.2 X-Fusion HiLo posts I have are still working well. I did change the levers though, as the one with the kit allows water into the end of the cable outer so easily and I have rigged up a shield with a bit of old inner tube to stop the crud getting into the lever/cable end under the saddle.
Edit: they are three and four years old respectively

A quick search and I can't seem to find any 27.2 in stock, but look like they get good reviews.
Tmars on eBay??

The new RSP Plummet don't come in 27.2, the old model did. I picked one up 2nd hand off here. They are pretty 'mechanical' not like a smooth infinite adjust hydraulic post. But on the flip side they are easy to strip, clean, re-grease. I run mine on my winter play in the woods HT.

tranzx, not much drop and short in 27.2 as well but basically same as the Brandx one at CRC which is rated highly.

I quite like the look of the Lyne Contour. Bit like a KS Lev and got an email to say 27.2 is ready soon. link

I've had the 'redneck sports' from ebay for a couple of weeks. Cheap and cheerful is how i'd describe it but it is rock solid so far! Lever is horrible though will be cutting it down or replacing.

X-Fusion HiLo with a remote here. I bought it used and have only done about 50 miles on it but it seems to work nicely. It's the only one I've ever used so I can't make any comparisons.

I did have a moderate off and tried to get away from the bike but landed on my stomach on the back of the seat. It was enough to move the seat in the clamp but the post is fine.

+1 on the hilo. If you're handy, get one second hand cheap that doesn't work and replace the seals (£20) and it'll be perfect.

Completely the opposite of what you asked, but the Thomson Elite Dropper I put on the Soul is a noticeable step-up from the sticky, slow constantly needing bled Reverb Stealth that's on my other bike.

So much so, I'm saving up for a second one to eventually replace said Reverb.

GD if you can find one, mine is 4 years old, servicing takes 10 mins and it's never failed. Admittedly it looks awful

Got my son this one for his inbred. Works well so far.

Remote works well. Clamps hold the seat rails well.
