I think it’s often less helpful to have a bunch in the right place because you eliminate fewer letters on each attempt. For example, imagine if the answer is SCONE and you go:
NUTTY
GIVEN
PHONE
DRONE
OZONE
ALONE
Those starting words are not great, but I’m sure there are more plausible sequences that would have the same pattern where there are more possible words than you have chances left.
i can see what youre saying, but taking the above example tho, id say theyre poor choices of letters.
for starters i wouldnt choose a double letter in my starting word. or a ‘v’ or ‘y’ unless there was a good reason for it.
id far rather have correct letters than a greater choice. i think some words are just harder to pinpoint because of the different options in the first place. give me correct letters any time tho 😀
