Will a unicycle help my wheelie potential on other bikes?

Anyone have a unicycle & found it helped with wheelies / manuals etc. on other bikes? Obviously I need a unicycle, most folk do – i’ve always been intrigued by them & the one time I had a shot on one I fell off quite spectacularly – powerful drink may have been taken aforehand – and ever since then i’ve vowed to conquer the freaky buggers.

Nah. I can ride a uni to a clown – like level of brilliance but have never been able to wheelie convincingly.

Just learn it for its own sake. Frustrating at first but a good sense of achievement when you get there. Maybe depends how crap you are to start with…

I’m intending to get one just for a laugh & wind up the missus – hopefully i’ll be able to master it in secret & then start riding it through the house carrying a tray of drinks to entertain & amaze unsuspecting guests – was just wondering if it would somehow dial in my balance to superhuman levels & allow me to wheelie for miles into the bargain 😉

same – only benefit of learning to unicycle is that for me it reminded me how much effort need to put in to learn new skills

On the contrary, you’re always doing a manual on a uni innit bruv! Other than the times you’re lying on the floor, bleeding.

I’ve ridden unicycles down many a mountain, around many a trail centre, jumped onto metre high walls and done larger drops… but I can get the front wheel of a bike off the ground by about three inches for a fraction of a second. I just can’t do it. I feel like a failure.
