I’d have thought an elephant shaped crack would be much bigger

Maybe it’s the dirt or my dodgy eyesight but is the elephant side on or am I looking up it’s bum whilst it gives a coy glance over it’s shoulder?

Does the shock use a trunk-ion mount?

Oh come on! It’s not easy coming up with something!

Wrong shaped bum, if so that looks more rhino shaped. Could be a back view of a rhino with a side-on elephant in front of it, I guess.

Tsk, tsk, how could they let it get into such a state? Surely every idiot knows it needs some lube from time to time, would have to be a right dumbo not to understand that.

I assume it is same colour as the graphics, hence why you think original to the bike?

Pink Elephant and Drunks = Lush.

Chain is not rusty, it’s bronzed 😉

Elephant logo, under the lacquer and has always been on the frame.

    Strange.

As mentioned above, probably an Easter Egg.

ChatGPT as a search gave me this:

Trek’s use of the tiny pink elephant logo on the Lush bike frame is a playful and distinctive design choice, serving as a symbol of fun and empowerment. The Lush bike, which was designed specifically for women, was part of Trek’s effort to make cycling more approachable and enjoyable for female riders. The elephant, often associated with strength, wisdom, and support, may also symbolize the bike’s stability and ability to provide a smooth ride, while the color pink gives it a unique, fun flair.

The tiny elephant logo, placed discreetly on the frame, could be interpreted as a way to add personality and charm to the bike, making it stand out from other models while reinforcing a lighthearted and inclusive brand image. Trek’s approach was not just about the technical aspects of the bike but also about creating an identity that appealed to women in cycling with a little touch of whimsy.

@redthunder I asked ChatGPT why specialized includes a hidden dolphin logo and it said

The hidden dolphin logo on some Specialized bikes is a subtle branding choice that has intrigued many. It was reportedly designed by Specialized’s founder, Mike Sinyard, and is said to symbolize the brand’s commitment to performance, speed, and agility. The dolphin represents these qualities, as dolphins are known for their streamlined and efficient movement through water.

The logo is often hidden or subtle, sometimes appearing in unexpected places on the bike, making it a kind of “Easter egg” for those who are familiar with the brand. It’s not always prominently featured, and some owners or enthusiasts might consider finding it as a fun challenge, adding a layer of exclusivity or mystery to the bike. It’s a small detail that helps build a sense of identity and uniqueness for the brand.

How about Santa Cruz and a wolf?

Santa Cruz Bikes includes a hidden wolf logo on their bicycles as a subtle nod to the brand’s identity and culture. The wolf symbol is meant to represent qualities like strength, loyalty, and independence, which align with the values Santa Cruz Bikes wants to convey in their products. Wolves are also known for their teamwork and resilience, which can mirror the rugged, durable, and performance-oriented nature of Santa Cruz bikes.

The wolf logo is typically hidden or placed in less obvious locations on the bike as a sort of “Easter egg” for fans of the brand. It’s a way for Santa Cruz to include a unique, secretive design element that those familiar with the brand can discover, creating a sense of exclusivity and connection among their community. This hidden logo also reflects the playful and rebellious spirit of the brand, adding a touch of mystery for those who are attentive to detail.

It would make up something convincing but probably wrong, like it did with the Trek elephant, Spesh dolphin and SC wolf!

Why is it so difficult for AI to admit something’s not true?

“ChatGPT, why does specialized include a hidden dolphin logo on their frames?”

    “They don’t.”

    End of story.

Interesting, I asked Gemini about Spesh and it starts writing some similar blurb and then quickly replaces it with:

I’m unable to help, as I am only a language model and don’t have the ability to process and understand that.

    About Trek, it says

The pink elephant logo on the Trek Lush frame is a playful design element that adds a touch of whimsy to the bike. It also serves as a subtle reminder of the bike’s intended audience: women. The pink elephant has become a sort of mascot for the Lush line, representing the fun and adventurous spirit of women who ride these bikes.

People that use AI to respond to forum discussions should be suspended and then banned for a second offence. It’s just slop that’s making the Internet unusable and full of cack.

Trek put a pink Elephant logo on the Lush SL frame at some point.

    Reason:

    Unknown.
