I hate valentines day, just as much as I hate mothers, fathers, grans and grandads day etc etc…. If the only time you can be bothered to show someone you care about them is one hideously commercialised day of the year then more the fool you. Complete waste of time and money.
emma : thats just wot i said to the hubby today ( why shud it be just ‘one’ day of the year to express your love to your nearest and dearest ?
wot you dont love them for 364 days of the year (only valentines day…
jesus and wot annoys me are all these adverts about valentines day food…who does that these days….. thumbs up for a hearty sunday dinner anytime..lol 😉
its got out of hand and too much hype for one day of luurv 😉
I hate it, I really do. We have done the valentines thing in the past but it’s just lost on us both. We do however always do little things for eachother nearly every day, little presents/messages/favours etc. Surely that’s what it’s all about? But, some people like it so who are we to judge, if they wanna waste their hard earned cash. My mum has so far sent a card to my nan with love from her cat, bought my dad an x box game and my brother some weird duck remote control thing. Is this normal? Buying stuff for other people in the family – fully expect the answer to be no,my entire family are freaks.
Pile of nonsense. I’ll get her a card to keep the peace.
Our first valentines day 14 years ago was marked by me making her a valentines day card, the front had a photo of a real, bloody heart, just removed from a body. I think at that point she realised that valentines day wasn’t going to be much of an event in our marriage…
Nobody to do it with, even if I was inclined to. I have in the past made cards for GF’s, and taken them out somewhere a bit special fo the day, but that’s something I enjoy doing with a girlfriend anyway.
wots with the argos adverts advertsing jewellry- for valentines day and omg…now a Pandora advert……jesus weve bearlt got xmas over and done with, thort we were living in hardship times…theres too much commercial !!! stop it tv stop i tell thee…
ah thats better a normal advert…ho ho ho green giant sweet corn.-
I don’t do it, I mean I’d be sending a card to my right hand written by my right hand, so my right hand would know that my right hand sent it in the first place, so pretty pointless.
I’d give my right hand to be ambidextrous, then I could send a card from my left hand to my right…no wait that wouldn’t work either…
Sorry to buck the trend but yes, she will receive gifts tomorrow. In return I will have a lovely meal cooked for me. Do none of you lot buy Xmas presents either?
Posh nosh at a charity ball last night with mates. Card and (supermarket)flowers tomorrow, but we did well in the raffle at the ball and won a voucher for a posh restaurant, a family day out at the wildlife park, and a voucher for a night in a hotel with breakfast.
Went out last night in scruffy clothes with Mrs iDave for food, first place we went to was closed for refurbishment, second place was full, third place was doing valentines night, there was one free table, we sat and had a laugh and some great food while miserable couples in posh garb struggled to find anything to say to each other. And they paid a lot for the privilege. Silly commercial bollox really.
Nope – I don’t do valentines day either. At risk of being a bit gushy – mrdomino shows how much he loves me every single day. I couldn’t ask for anything else. (sorry, hope nobody vom’d there 😉 )
My GF just yelled at me to f off twice and then threw something at the wall. Hopefully it wasn’t her computer or anything of mine. So no, not this year.
