All the really fast people don’t use Strava

But they do, you think you’ve got a good time and then the Tob comes through 😖😖

Do you really though? I mean you cared enough about the segment to have been monitoring it for months to know time had been the same. And you’ve done a bit of Strava research into your ‘competition’ looking at their other segments. You’re miffed enough to post a topic about it.

It’s a climb I do pretty much every second ride I do so of course I know what the best time is and who holds it. That’s not exactly monitoring it.

And my ‘strava research’ into the other chap extends to recognising his name at the top of the most popular segment in my city with over 10000 people on the leaderboard. Which indicates he’s bloody fast, as I’m about 750th!

Interestingly there are plenty of very fast people in Sheffield, some who have raced on the world stage.

I like it when you see some goon who has a photo of their ebike claim the big climb over a world class mtb rider and then still contest it was ok believe me.

Go out and buy an ebike have done with it.

As has been alluded to already, Strava is all about creating competition I’ve made actual.real life friends with people who I’ve got into a KOM battle with, if someone takes one of mine I give them kudos and leave a friendly jocular message saying I’ll need to get it back etc… 9 times out of ten this starts a back and forth between us and when I take it back I get a similar message and away it goes… it’s all a bit of fun isn’t it?
