Graham S – you’d like to think i’d walk it if it was only 2.5 miles

I’ve walked it as couple of times, but its a bit dodgy with no pavements and busy roads

Therefore, you’d think i rode instead. Sadly, you’d be wrong…

25 miles each way by car (motorway for 90%).

I get the occasional urge to cycle, but then i wise up It would add 4-6 miles to the journey and maybe 3-4 hours to my working day.

    Really?

25 miles, mainly motorway: 30 mins, being generous, suspect it’s longer? Assuming no traffic too.

30 miles on the bike: 1:45 without killing yourself, so that’s an additional 1:15, more like 2.5 hours. Worth doing once a week perhaps? Or do one way. Great way to get some good miles in!

15 minutes door to door. Would probably be quicker cycling, but alas, I am the very definition of a lazy mountain biker!

    3-4 miles there…
between 3-13 miles home, depending on how much energy I have…

I’d be a sweaty ballack if i tried to do it in that time njee. There’s the dozen or so roundabouts and 40+ sets of lights that the detour has over the motorway to consider. I’ll maybe try it some day, but considering i’m averaging 0 miles per week for the last 2-3 months, (due to injury) i’d need to get some training in.

6 miles each way in London, from Acton/Chiswick area to Soho. Been doing it on the mtb for the past couple of months, which feels like very hard work but finally today I get to pick up my commuter machine from having its hub gear serviced (insert rant about SRAM’s servicing ability here).

Takes me about 25 minutes generally, traffic dependent.

I go the slightly longer 5 mile route in, back has been anything up to 25miles, its Leicestershire though so not many hills.
