Such an awesome thread, the talent here is seriously impressive. It must just be when people starting talking and typing they turn into bellends 😉

Mowgli’s canoe is astounding and I love Giant’s kitchen above.

I made a earth-oven for pizza and bread etc. last summer. Used a great little book by Kiko Denzer, got the kids involved and had a hoot and then had really amazing pizza. Recommended. Sorry no pics..

    This thread is flipping awesome

How have I missed this thread until now ?

Round about the time this thread started, Mrs MTG had a serious accident and I had to make some wheelchair ramps.

She’s back on her feet now, so I have just recycled them as a social housing project for Mrs MTG Junior’s pet rabbit.

Yeah. It’s not the same as really making something though. I stalled for a while too in quality.

I sold the naked lady picture which was nice and I’ve had a few commissions but I’m on a bit of a downer with my quality right now. I drew my wife and her two sisters (which my wife doesn’t want on the internet), spent absolutely ages on it and now hate it. My wife has three prints of it in A3 size and is about to get them framed and given to her sisters and I absolutely hate it.

Edit: right now I’m drawing Wolverine from one of the films in biro. I’ve only drawn his head and neck so far and love it. I guarantee once I’ve finished I’ll hate it.

    Some bread

After struggling with a cheap bread machine and throwing most of the bread that it made, I took the plunge and bought an expensive Panasonic machine (as recommended on here in another thread)

It’s is the first loaf out of it.

It smelled, felt and tasted wonderful.

    Finished it.
Dad’s old trailer needed some serious TLC. Especially since I found he’d torn one of the axle mounts nearly clean off. So I borrowed a mate’s Mig box and stripped, repaired and refurbished the whole thing. TBH Ive only ever Arc welded before so for a first stab at Mig it was a bit interesting. Not the finest welding in the world. But it will hold.

in all of my work i can only see the mistakes and things i wish to change, no matter what else is said about it.

    i do love this thread

Nice trailer Stoner. Way more versatile than a pick up.

The trick with MIG welding is to get everything shiny and bright before welding. There’s not a lot that can go wrong with bg angle iron stuff. It’s rusty thin plate rusty chassis material that’s tricky. Not looking at Land Rovers particularly.

Worked that out after producing a perfect line of weld….. 4mm away from the other piece of metal 😳 The arc wouldnt make contact to the uncleaned face

That trailer is only really rated for 750Kg, but then so is my nancylander as well. Fine for a load of logs/bag of briquettes.

Stoner – nice job on the trailer. Check the bolts holding the hitch on – i had a similar trailer once where someone had fitted 12.9 unplated caphead bolts. One completely sheared. Thankfully i noticed!

The last chapter in the shed my brother and I just built. We made the door from the last of the flooring and the bench from the last couple of posts and some scaffolding boards.

All of you are very talented, seems to be a large amount of engineer/metal worker types.

Kudos to you all particularly as the last thing I made was a cup of coffee, although it was tasty!
