more fantastic stuff. This thread keeps on giving.
I love all the metalwork on here. My abilities only extend to banging timber together, but I did manage to produce this from £39 worth of dipped agricultural timber yesterday morning in time for lunch on it:

Photos below are the consequences of asking my Dad ‘do you want to go halves on a metal lathe?’ about 18 months ago… He has been putting it to good use doing bits for cars and motorbikes. All a lot of fun. A milling machine has recently been added to the workshop…
Spent today making some storage for the workshop, a frame for 16 35 litre plastic boxes with lids (£4 each from Homebase). All the bike spares and DIY stuff will go in it.

On this version, a stubby torque arm to a bracket on the chainstay. It’s one of those bits I haven’t quite decided on the best solution – on the steel ones I use a modified OEM plate on the dropout.
Not quite the latest thing I made (maybe I’ll post some of my other recent projects for those into weird niche stuff), but seeing as Ben is on here I should probably post this:
Footflaps, that is a really practical design. It looks quite cheap to make? I might have to have a go at a custom/slopey under the stairs version.
There’s more Ply than I realised – used up 4 sheets of 8′ x 4′, so that’s about £80 of Ply and 16x £4 of boxes in total and a bag of screws. It’s worked out really well, I’ve put all our bike kit in there with a tub for each camelbak + tools etc, tub for shoes and helmets, one for spare inner tubes, spare tyres etc. Previously everything was just piled in a wardrobe and I could never find stuff.
