I use my attic as a painting studio but the sloping walls mean I can’t easily have shelves or any storage. If I do try to store my paints then they are never handy to actually use to I end up with loads of tubes scattered all over the table I use to paint on.
I turned the problem of the sloping walls into a benefit by creating a paint tube hanging rack.
Easy to see the paints and easy to grab a tube and put it back when I am finished. I can also see when I have either no paint of a particular colour or too much off the same one – I am looking at you, Green 359
Agree that OSB works in place, as you say – Instro-chic, just not sure it sets off the lights and cheerful present theme well. Not a criticism, just a different perspective
That flower is lovely, any info on how it’s made and with what?
Thank you! 🙂
I didn’t take any photos of the work in progress (unusual for me).
The flower petals are 0.5mm thick stainless steel sheet and the stem is 5mm stainless with some blobs of weld & some leaves welded on. Veins on the leaves were embossed with a small chisel.
I cut each layer out with tin-snips and cleaned up the edges with a ‘conditioning’ disc on the angle grinder – very similar to the method in the video below (there are many others). I turned down and threaded the end of the stem in the lathe though.
There are quite a few templates on line. This looks like the one I used:
Very, very pleased with how it came out – it was originally going to be the trial run.
(Feel free to ask if you want any more info.)
That dog bath really looks the business. Is it you who has the Wheaten Terriers? Can a dog stand in there, guessing the size means the dog can’t move around which is what you want?
Also, that rose is gorgeous as is the industrial style table. Clever peeps!

It’s just for after walk feet and tummy cleaning,(and dirt riding gear before it goes in the washing machine)the size helps keep them from moving around to much.
Refurbed my old 90’s Diamond Back MTB. It was a dark blue (originally in 1990 it was Marbled Grey, but it’s been blue for over 20 years, until this week.
I found a nice piece of wood in the garage while moving stuff around so made this but realised this afternoon that I don’t have any felt to line the drawers, the shops are shut tomorrow and no-one needs any more presents right now so i thought I would post the pictures in the current state incase I stick it on a shelf somewhere and never actually finish it.
Nowhere near the skill level of the above, but I have been tinkering for the last couple of days and have made a coke can stove, pot stand and heat shield for the princely sum of £2.35.
Sorry I didn’t take pics but I am rather proud of the “chinese” dinner I cooked for 7 of us on new years eve so I’m going to post anyway
Starters – prawn crackers ( of course) sesame butterfly prawns, two types of deep- fried wontons ( bought the pastry but made into wonton by me)
Mains – lemon chicken, Beef with ginger spring onion and bamboo shoots, Sweet and sour pork, chop seuy and egg fried rice. I bought the lemon sauce but made sweet and sour
Every dish was edible and some of it was rather nice. Its really the only creative thing i can do is cook
