    (not) pink bike

What colour of pedals/grips should I get to make my bike look more awesome? Bird describe colour as “not pink”, I agree it’s more like
    raspberry /plum.

    I was thinking Turquoise 😲.

Yellow to match the decals, or just let the frame speak for itself and stay with black.

Well the saddle is black, so the grips and pedals should also be black. It’s the law.

Cant go wrong with black. Coloured grips always seem to end up looking manky in my experience

Grips black. Pedals silver because after a few month’s that’s the colour my pedals end up whatever colour I start with.

Black it is then. Although oil slick does look amazing 👌.

How many of you colour coordinate your clothes to your steeds? Wondering if I have an excuse to buy new shorts & tops 🤣

Dark blue grips like the burgtec minnaar ones and blue pedals if you have to add colour or plain old black.

Be brave and get the yellow grips man, Deathgrips don’t mark up really.

Personally I prefer blue or red as an accent colour – so I can match anodised parts like pedals & chainring too.

But that yellow detailing is crying out for matching grips.

Most colour coding I’ve done – black frame, saddle with green underside (fabric), green gear outer, that’s it.

That saddle came off a green MK2 Soul, that had everything else black.

    Coloured anodised aluminium looks shit.

boring boring black… yawn. It’s your bike, do what you want with it. I’d be tempted to go for yellow or something else fruity but if you care what someone else thinks then keep it safe.

It looks great if you don’t go mad, e.g. chainring and pedals, matched with grips – all consumables.

When people start doing hubs, stem, bars & adding big coloured stickers to their carbon rims – that’s when it looks a bit naff/tryhard.

Refer to any Orange owners’ group to see what I mean.

here’s some more sensible colour guides for the rules lovers.

No more than 4 colours, not including black, greys and silver because they go with anything
you can put pretty much any 2 colours together and get away with it
with 3 saturated colours 2 of them should be adjacent in the colour wheel e.g. red – orange – yellow – green, cyan, blue, magenta, red ->
with 4 colours you need to 2×2 colour pairs as above but the chance of it looking a bit ravey increase dramatically.

    Or blackzzzz.

So for your particular colour scheme, you could try red, orange or blue to go with the existing colours. A dark olive green might look good too but bright green could look a bit much with the pinky purple.

On CBBC recently my son saw a programme about a blind bloke who has developed echo-location to get around and he was riding a bike unaided. Was that you?

ETA you mention everything bar kex 😱
