Weird … just sorting out my boyz challenge this year…. nothing that taxing or extreme, they wanted to do the 3 peaks but I said it was too much sitting in the back of a motor! So we are going to do the English version… Scafell Pike, Hellvelyn and Skiddaw in a day…. should be good on the basis that the only hill they’ve ever been up is Gants Hill.

Me … lots of things are taking my fancy, I must pin something down… But defo want to do more microadventures… things like swimming in the local river or jumping on a train and running/cycling home or maybe camp out one night in a local but quiet spot … ??

I’m going to cycle less. 😀
This years been very busy riding so next year I’m picking some prestige events to ride, shall keep my fitness up just enough to do me justice but that’s probably it TBH. There are a few Gran Fondo events over in the east Dolomites which will be completed with some vigour, and mates, then I intend to spend a month in the Vosges with the roadie on my own.

The main sporting challenge for me is to go Surf Paddleboarding more. I’ve missed arsing around with surfy mates and they’ve missed me it seems. So we’re just planning a trip per month over a long weekend, just mates, boards, burgers, beer and no doubt bare bottoms.

Looking forward to it makes me smile.

Sounds like a great plan doncha think.

    😀

Leave my current job and set up my own little thing. Have a good product that most schools and colleges would be interested in, just road testing it at present ready for general release next year.

Ride the ridgeway, South Downs way and the bit inbetween over a few days next summer.

After our walk of 62 miles in 24 hours I’m looking forward to next year’s challenge. Can’t give any details yet but it’s going to be big.

after doing two bike packing trips this year then hopefully more of the same. Can’t/Haven’t decided what yet.

Did the trans Cambrian in the summer & just done the lakeland 200.

Want to pluck up courage to enter the Rovaniemi 150 but common sense says get some winter riding experience here first so that may get put off till 2017.

I’m going to try to stick with just the bikes I have now.

Edit: I suspect that’s going to be harder than it sounds.

Edit Edit: I’m going to try to stick with just the bike’s that I have on January 1st

    That sounds better.

Riding wise, to improve my knee situation, which is stopping me from any 20 mile plus rides.
Then a new bike and some technical coaching and visits to trail centres in Wales and Scotland.

After major surgery to my spine 12 months ago, I’ve managed this year to get back to the level of fitness I was at before the op. I also managed to ride The Beast at Hope on my HT, without dabbing for the first time.
Next year I’d like to do more 100-mile + road rides, improve my MTB confidence and perhaps take part in a fundraising event for a mental health charity.

    The White Mile.

The same wee Highland ride that I think trail rat might be talking about.

I’m struggling to think of a way to fund a little two month adventure I’d like to go next summer but it’s not quite given up on yet.

ETA Oh yeah, and replastering the bedroom ceiling, insulating the roof, clearing the dump spare room so it’s fit for a small human, investigating some sort of heating for the house in general, installing a functioning bathroom and removing any sharp objects left over from half finished DIY projects in the past. All down to item 2. above.

Survive the team triathlon I’ve been volunteered for in September with a decent 40km time.

Drop a couple of stone to improve my climbing and sprinting (may be related to the thing above).

Actually try out (rather than just try out in my head) a couple of ideas for ‘sideline’ businesses – one bike-related, one in education.

Get out of the bottom 10% in my age group at Ard Rock assuming I get an entry (I guess not picking up a virus the day before might help this time round).

Grand Raid in Switzerland and try and get up at the sharp end (or just not the back..) I’m actually going to train for this year.

Plus a few other uk endurance mtb events. This plan entirely revolves around a lower than usual mince pie consumption over the next 2 months which is always tricky!
