Only worry about things you can do something about. You can’t stop people picking their nose then picking up a shopping basket but you can use hand sanitizer on the handle and your own hands. I seem to remember a study that found more bugs on the soap and taps in toilets than on the toilet itself. Take appropriate measures to keep unwanted bugs out of your own mouth, eyes etc. and leave those less careful to contaminate each other.
