Christmas started going downhill for me when dashing glasses in the fire after one use became unfashionable due to sustainability and health & safety considerations. Then when they outlawed the traditional Boxing Day Duelling competition it was such a let down.

The closest I’ve ever gotten to spending xmas in a log cabin in the alps was watching Wham’s “Last Christmas” video in front of telly.

It was obvious that the Generalist is neither a ski chalet owner or a millionaire who winters in the ski resorts of Europe.
He’s just a normal, everyday mtber who imo has cheered us up with the usual witty replies from Perchypanther and co.

Just read that Snowheads thread, different world. I know this forum isn’t short of folk with a comfortable middle class existence but the difference in attitude is quite stark.

Top work there BTW, not a ten on the Taylforth scale but certainly worthy of merit.
