Straight on at Bacup for Tod and the canal, or left for Cliviger and the higher level route over the tops to Hebden via Long Causeway (turn down by the Kettledrum pub).
Longer, more climbing, but unbelievable views.
For progress, I’d take the canal.
Once you climb up and over from Bacup towards Tod, the canal is at the bottom of the descent just before you hit the main road.
I think I saw you, have you a Scottish flag on the trailer….grinding up a steep hill just above the Tesco in Sowerby Bridge?
Edit, now seen the photo, yes you do. I nearly did shout out from the bright red Fiat 500, to see if it was you, but thought that might have been a bit, well, weird.
Edit edit, just to clarify, I have no idea what you look like, but I had read you were in this neck of the woods, and just wondered if it was a coincidence it might have been you on your travels.
This is thread of the year.
You lovely lot have cheered me up and there’s been genuine laughing out loud in bunnyhop/nbt towers.
2nd don’t stop in Bacup.
It’ll make t’other night seem like a Temperance Hall excuse-me. 🙂
Im still recovering😎
Canals and wee roads today. Met the big man and he rode with me for a good few miles today and expertly guided me on a maze of paths. A pint of course. Im now camped up near Shelby I think. Wherever the flip that is🙄
Really wnjoyed riding the canals today and yesterday.
Pity you’re in Selby TJ, got a nice Garlic Chilli Chicken on the go in Boroughbridge.
Doubt if you’ll be in Selby on Monday but Lola’s Garden on Station Rd does awesome breakfasts. Keep up the good work, everyone’s loving your travels!
Sorry I missed TJ passing ST Towers. I was busy paddling down the Colorado. It’s not as glamorous as it sounds. You have to pee in the river and poo in a tin that has a vent tab you have to pull before you open it.
