    They crashed because they suck.

😀 Wish I could bunnyhop over a traffic island at 40mph in the middle of a bunch!

Crashes, and the consequences, are a bad thing, getting hurt shouldn’t be a part of sport, anybody’s job, or (for some people) entertainment.

No I’m not wishing an injury on anyone. But everyone is saying “poor unlucky Contador” etc. BS! Descending on wet roads isn’t luck, it’s ability.

    2013 tour top 10

1 Chris Froome (GBR) – Crashed out
    2 Nairo Quintana (COL) – Didn’t start
3 Joaquim Rodríguez (ESP)- An hour beind
4 Alberto Contador (ESP) – Crashed out
5 Roman Kreuziger (CZE) – Druggy
6 Bauke Mollema (NED)- Lost time on cobbles
7 Jakob Fuglsang (DEN)- Supporting team mate
8 Alejandro Valverde (ESP) – Old man
9 Daniel Navarro (ESP) – 40 mins down
10 Andrew Talansky (USA) – Crashed on not looking good

The Top 10 may have a very unfamiliar feel this year!

Anyway, just how immense is Tony Martin? To ride like he is today with a post-stage win and world cup win hangover is very impressive.

Don’t know if you get the ad break things we do but Bertie leaving to “Je ne Regrette Rien” and the Goodbye Bro was quite funny.

(not laughing at crashes or the rest just some good music matching going on)

None of them suck, however, they are all in the same race on the same roads so those still on the bikes are as worthy winners even if the favourites crash out.

There have been plenty of accidents, there always are, however, some riders make their own luck. There will be a difference in standard between riders. Just look at the way some of them descend or look so at home on the cobbles. It isn’t all about the fastest climber and time trialling and I don’t think it should be. I’d rather see people lose time though, than crash out injured. Having been there, lying on the tarmac, it hurts and isn’t something I’d wish on somebody else.

Be careful, if you have views outside the mainstream Phil and Paul party line you’ll get accused of trolling 🙂

And it’s heating up with the pressure hitting Astana, from Real Mans first page

I cannot say whether we will know the name of the winner in Paris, but we should have a list of those who are out of the running for good.

I just had a look back and the group definately eased up for a while after Contador crashed. They where at 4;28 from the lead group increasing to 5:11. Also I thought I heard Sean Kelly saying that when the weather’s like this beef can wash onto the road. Not sure though.

    Phillipe Maudit:
“Alberto badly crashed. His right knee is seriously injured. The crash has been violent. I have his shoe with me, it’s completely destroyed. According to some rumors, his bike has been broken but that’s not the case. A bike fell from our racks after we fixed Nicolas Roche’s bike. It’s obviously too early to establish a diagnostic for Alberto. Once he’ll reach the finish, he’ll undergo an x-ray examination. Before pulling out, he told us that he was in an awful pain and he couldn’t go any further on his bike. It’s a pity because everything had gone well since the beginning of the Tour. We had a plan and today’s race was unfolding exactly as we wanted. In a fraction of a second, it all fell apart, so we’re immensely sad. Tomorrow, it’s a rest day. After tomorrow, a new battle will begin. We’ll stay united and a new Tour de France will begin for us.”

I’m getting over my earlier negativity. Nibali vs Porte, Sagan, Martin and Voigt. Still plenty of racing left.

Or more specifically Schleck, in yellow, attacked on the climb whilst ahead of Contador, Vino went with him, Schleck dropped his chain, Vino went past, Contador came past after that. It was a cheap way to get the jersey.

Or, Schleck the tactically incompetent (you and your bro tow the on-form Ardennes king to the finish instead of attacking him) also turns out to be mechanically incompetent by attacking on 39/11 and wondering why his chain jams.
And besides, Schleck never waited for Chavanel when he was in yellow and had to pull up, so his whining was just hypocrisy.

They might be trying to explain a bust bike on the roof and dont want to upset the bike sponsors.
