sorry I think Eng are not convincing, finding their stride and a better pattern of play …certainly slightly more expansive,

    I believe I said;
I think that england have been the most convincing of any in the competition
And I stand by that. Do you think Ireland have been any more convincing? If you do, I’d suggest you watch the games again.

Just you wait until you see what the English located press has to say about the WORLD CUP WINNING HEIR TO JONNY W, OH MY HOW WE LOVE HIM SO MUCH! DID YOU KNOW HE BOFFED KELLY BROOK? NO? WELL HERE’S A PICTURE OF HER BAPS IN A BIKINI! PHWOAR, EH? ANYWAY, BACK TO THE RUGBY, OR IS IT ABOUT TITS?

    It’s rubbish losing, innit? 🙂

So, thoughts on tomorrows (todays?) game?

I think if the Scots can keep their discipline I think they’ll sneak the win. Not by a lot, but Wales didn’t look good against England last week and Scotland probably should of beaten France last week. North being missing is a blow for Wales for sure, but credit to them for keeping him out.

North missing is a blow. Lee missing is a massive blow. Our best hope is if Scotland try to chuck it about.

so far they have played the two weakest sides………

Its true but at least I can console myself with comparing the number of Grand Slams Gethin Jenkins has won with Irelands grand slams or our record over the last ten years with Englands.

1)Why on earth didn’t Cipriani go straight into full back for Brown?
    2) Why on earth am I on a train platform in a kilt at 7.45am,looking at an offered up hip flask with a sense of inevitability?

I’m guessing Watson is seen as the heir apparent so it was a good opportunity.

No idea on the second one. Good luck and have a great day though!!

I’m guessing Cips wasn’t put in at fullback because he hasn’t played there for a very long time. I don’t recall Sale ever putting him there. I’m also not convinced that Bomber trusts him a the last line of defence. He’s improved this aspect of his game, but he’s not great. I guess that cap and one or two others will keep him at Sale for another couple of years.

I wonder of Farrell will have to fight for his spot back if Ford and Cips go well? There’s more fluidity in our backs without him. Either that or he’ll be put in at 12!

Nowell went pretty well for the Chiefs yesterday. I wonder if he’ll be called up instead of May? Covers 15 and centre too. He’s not hot May’s pace but makes better descions.

Hoping for a good match today. I’ll be cheering Scotland on purely because as a neutral they play a more interesting brand of rugby. And it’ll annoy my plastic Welsh mates.

That England Italy game was shocking.

Worst six nations game for a long time.

Can’t remember another team turning up with so little intention of contesting the result.
Big day out at Twickenham, and a chance to get your name on the scoreboard. Total lack of defensive commitment. They showed up, accepted defeat ,and tried to take a few personal glories away by scoring some points. Typified by that 5m SH try, but the others were little better. A school team would have been ashamed.
Total contrast to their performance last week, were they thought they could win it and committed to defense. Very UnItalian, tbh, and I wouldn’t have believed a 6N team would play like that without seeing it. More like an end of season BaaBaa’s performance.
Compelling evidence for promotion and relegation from the tournamant. Let the Georgians or Romanians have a crack.

Fair play to England. You can only beat what’s in front of you.
And sometimes, another team’s attitude can influence the tempo and nature of the game.
Agree with wrecker about England being the most convincing, but that’s based on destroying Wales away. Any England fan taking too much from this game is delusional.

It’s like playing tennis against someone who puts no pace on the ball. Ends up scrappy.

I was hitting it as hard as I could !

Cirpriani is, correctly, down the picking order and in the squad as cover for Ford. I haven’t seen the match again but he took his try well against a tired and disorganised Italian defence but mixed that in with some poor positional kicking. We need him to get some game time as Ford could pick up an injury.

    Wales will beat Scotland comfortably

Glad Cips had a go and nice support and try. But the kicking was not up to scratch so hopefully that is the end of the debate. Ask Italy about having no kicker.

Looking forward to this afternoon although the boss has a long list of jobs. Maybe she didn’t mean it when she said “please don’t waste any money on V day flowers.”!!! 😉

You are Gusset circa 2003ish and I claim my £5 finders fee.

    destroying Wales away.

Wales have been destroyed at home a lot, most recently by NZ or Ireland at home last time. Last week wasnt a destruction just a defeat by a better team on the day.

Sorry No……….they look shakey in defence, start the game too slowly, make too many poor decision choices in defence and attack, some poor execution. The score line against the Italians could have been a lot closer if Italy have a place kicker.

Do you think Ireland have been any more convincing?

er yes, Sexton looks world class, they look like they could compete with any Southern Hem team….they look like a team with a tactical plan, with players coming back from injury, the Irish were more expansive and aggressive in the game plan. Bowe and Kearney were brilliant. The back row was a real unit and O’Mahoney was immense They have convinced me they are the team to beat in the 6N

Much as I like and admire Lancaster as a Coach and what he has brought to England following the disaster of the Johnson era, there seems to be a conflicting view of how the game should be played when the ball goes to the backs, I ma not sure he knows what his best team is and the coaching teams hand was forced, compared to Schmidt and Vern Cotter he is still developing as a international Coach.

Robshaw is unsung under appreciated and on a par with McCaw.

For the world Cup England will be in a good call, as will Ire

Lots of men with kilts and hip flasks today, seemingly accepting the inevitability with good grace.

Scots by 3 to 5 points, 1/2p to keep wales in the game……….intrested to see the mental state of the welsh after last week and I think the last 20 will see Wales slip away again.

What ever happens will be grand.

Thats a bit if a stretch even for a die hard England fan like me…

It is a grand statement but look at the stats.look at the constancy, look at the importance to the team, his work at the breakdown and he has been immense for a couple of season now. McCaw at the his height was the greatest but at this moment in time Robshaw imho is up there leading he would be in the world XV

Er ok england are the world champs in waiting and Robshaw is the best 7 in the world.

Or you beat a miss firing Wales team and Italy. I agree with Wrecker they look the best team in the 6 nations thus far but I’d be wary of Ireland who have had two good wins whilst playing well within their capabilities.

I agree with AA’s sentiment here, lets not get all excited. Ireland did look terrible under some go-forward intensity though, which England will bring to the game as long as they have hands on the ball – but Sexton can just send them backwards in a way that Italy couldn’t, and their line out and drive is a different story altogether.

me too. I have long accepted that Engands likely fate in the WC will be to get beaten in the pool stages by Wales or go out in the quarters.
Beating Wales last weekend was great, but it does not make them great.

Just changed since I hung up my boots – I got pinged for doing what JD did several times 😉 but it’s clear obstruction and loads of blocking already (just no white shirts!). Good to watch though.

A Player does not have to alter his run to get out of the way of a tackler. Blocking is a different thing.

I wonder if in this half… Wales can get even a mm over the gainline/ defend better and if the referee can notice Scotland not throw a single lineout in straight/ too many penalties in the red zone?

    “Mini Jiffy blocking the tackler?”

He was 3 metres away from LW. The “tackle” was all for the benefit of the ref.
