GeeTee1972, your IWC Portuguese Chrono-Automatic (in stainless steel with blue crocodile leather strap, Reference IW371417) – if I’m not mistaken 😉 wins hands down.

Although a retail of £4250 is a bit out of my price range.

If money was no object, it’d have to be this for me:

    Keep them coming, nice thread!

    wins hands down

I like that, good play on words!
When we got engaged, I took my wife out for a day in London to buy her engagement ring. she slipped off for an hour and came back with the watch as a surprise! I had shown her my ‘dream’ watch about two years before and she’d remembered the exact model and planned for some time to do this.

Romance is still alive although neither of us are quite so well heeled these days! Houses, kids, maternity leave etc…..

    A classic 80’s swatch…

Got this one stashed away up stairs. Probably best left there as well.

Sadly the Emergency and Sub are now sold but I still have the other two.

Present from someone in America, so the radio-synchro bit doesn’t work, but lovely watch that accompanies me on rides. Never wear a watch normally, just can’t get used to one on my wrist. I look at my phone or a clock. Very useful on rides tho – especially a G-Shock.

Bombproof, solar powered through the face, so no mechanical auto winding parts to fail. will run for 6months with absolutely no light. 300m WR. Not stupidly large. If this was shock resistant it would be my perfect watch.

Got this a year and a half ago, although almost went for Redthunder’s. It’s been on my wrist ever since. Automatic so no batteries needed, but does loose a couple of minutes every few months. It’s been diving, mountain biking, canyoning etc. etc. and not a scratch…

PS My last watches: Kahuna, Animal etc. have only ever lasted me a not much more than a year as they seem to stop working 🙁

My 40th birthday present to me. Now 13 years old (sigh). Have a cheap Animal watch to wear when I am biking etc

Bought for my 21st by my (now) wife. Needs a new strap so I am now using this with a brown leather strap for day-to-day:

IWC is on the “when I rob a bank” list

but I’m waiting for this as a late xmas present.

will certainly cary on wearing the cheapo one for active stuff as I have a habit of breaking watches when biking/canoeing etc.

    Another hairy wrist:

Never really worn watches, but got this last Jan.

Tissot T-Touch Titanium. Simple, compact, I like it. It’s looking a bit scuffed actually but as it’s when biking, digging and mechanicing i’m happy it’s survived a year!!

    Circa £350

I had one of them, was very happy with until the hands started doing their own thing and stopped syncing with the digital display. Most watch repairers wouldn’t touch as its not economical to fix. Tissot wanted over £150 to fix it! If anything goes wrong with a T-touch, all the internal mechanism has to be replaced due to it not being serviceable.
    I didn’t bother…

peajay, my Seamaster started losing time like yours and gradually got worse.

A service sorted it out and it’s been fine since (18 months or so).
